Talking tough on the YouTube 'bout what you used to do
But that's old school to the new crew

Quincey Tones – The Quintessential East Coast Producer...
But isn’t he from West London? Not one to let geographic location be a detriment, Quincey Tones is quickly establishing himself as one of the East Coast’s foremost producers, providing beats for eMC and Little Brother, Talib Kweli and Trife da God just to name a few. With his desire to live off the phat of the land, his Westward expansion has seen him conquer the Eastern Seaboard (NY – Wordsworth, NC – Little Brother and Philly – Reef The Lost Cauze) before moving through the South (Lil Wayne), mid-West (Naledge of Kidz In The Hall and Royce da 5’9” ) and into the fruitful California (Planet Asia, Ras Kass and Hieroglyphics).
Believing Hip Hop to be the global language, he continues to work with his fellow countrymen – lacing some of the UK’s top lyricists such as Lowkey with his stellar production and more recently having worked with Yungun and rising reggae sensation Deadly Hunta.
As technology advances and the world becomes a smaller place, plus, due to his intrigue and love of all cultures; Quincey is truly leading the way in making the globalisation of Hip Hop a two-way street – working with not only his Anglo-American counterparts, but also Swedish chart-topping Promoe of the Looptroop crew as well as more to come.
Quincey’s passion for music was apparent from a young age, picking up both the guitar and double bass. This was the start of his musical journey, with his first notable achievement being touring with legendary innovators of Ska “The Skatalites”.
In the mid-90s Quincey’s love for Hip Hop and vinyl was ignited. In 1998, he saved up enough money to buy his first sampler.
Quincey honed his skills in the coming years and in 2003 started sending beat CDs to MCs across the UK and US. He gained his first radio exposure when Kish and Dan Greenpeace of XFM and DJ Skully and DJ MK of Kiss 100 picked up on his skills on the Illanoyz (Boot Camp Clik) and Trife da God (Theodore Unit) track “Next Generation”.
Since this initial break, Quincey has continually progressed and evolved, working with Craig G, Apathy, Esoteric, Shabazz The Disciple, Prozack Turner, October Zero, Q-Unique, The Arsonists, Torae, Punchline, Dap-C, Silent Knight and the previously mentioned eMC, Little Brother, Talib Kweli, Lil Wayne, Royce 5’9”, Wordsworth, Hieroglyphics, Lowkey, Yungun, Trife da God, Ras Kass and Planet Asia. Rest assured there’s more quality music in the pipeline, including work with DITC legend OC.
With stand-out tracks on the critically acclaimed eMC album “The Show”, notching up production credits including the likes of Lil Wayne, Talib Kweli and Little Brother and his remix project “God’s Gangster” receiving a rare 8 out of 10 on AllHipHop.Com, Quincey’s looking forward to a new beginning and is currently readying his as yet untitled debut album. Still in its early stages of recording, the LP already features some of the most revered names in Hip Hop.
