Quinteto Fuego
Quinteto Fuego vie mukanaan Argentiinan kiireisille kaduille, niiden lämpimään sykkeeseen. Yhtye tarjoaa välittömiä kohtaamisia ihmisten kesken sekasorron vallitessa ympärillä. Rakkaus ja viha kietoutuvat toisiinsa tiiviisti synnyttäen vaikutelman elämänmittaisesta syklistä aitoa, syvää tunnetta, joka on lopulta määrittelemätön laadussaan.
Jyväskylän konservatoriolla syksyllä 2001 perustettu Quinteto Fuego toimi aktiivisesti jo opiskeluaikana. Yhtye löysi niin voimakkaan yhteisen tahdon tulkita musiikkia, että töitä jatkettiin valmistumisen jälkeenkin sen enempää asiasta keskustelematta. Fuego on esiintynyt ahkerasti ympäri Suomea niin suurilla festivaaleilla kuin pienissä kuppiloissa. Vuoden 2004 lokakuussa Fuego voitti toisen palkinnon Italian Castelfidardossa kansainvälisessä Piazzolla-kilpailussa.
Fuegon saumaton yhteissoitto on elämänmakuista keskustelua kvintetin jäsenten kesken - yhdessä on kasvettu itkun ja naurun saattelemana. Aina eivät sanat riitä tunteiden ilmaisuun, silloin musiikki toimii korvaamattomana apuna. Pohjoisen jylhän luonteen ja argentiinalaisen intohimon yhteentörmäys jättää jälkensä niin ehjään kuin särkyneeseenkin sieluun.
Yhtyeen debyyttialbumi "Quinteto Fuego Plays Piazzolla" julkaistiin kesän alussa Jyväskylä Summer Jazzeilla!

The music of Quinteto Fuego takes you to the busy streets of Argentina and introduces you to the warm, lively atmosphere that surrounds them. In the middle of everyday disorder, Fuego offers you a possibility to stop for a moment and truly connect with people. It shows you how love and hate embrace each other and create a cycle of genuine, deep feeling that can last for life. The phenomenon of experiencing music is, in the end, almost impossible to describe.
Quinteto Fuego was founded in 2001 at the Conservatoire of the Jyvaskyla Vocational Institute in Jyvaskyla. Members of the band were all students at the time but their shared ambition in interpreting music was so strong that none of them really questioned their continuing to play together after graduating. Fuego has been performing regularly around Finland at a number of bigger events as well as smaller occasions. In October 2004, Fuego won the second prize in the international Piazzolla competition in Castelfidardo, Italy.
The seamless teamwork of Fuego comes down to the intense discourse between the band members. Their cooperation is full of life: together the members of the band have grown up and developed, cried and laughed. Sometimes it is impossible to find words to express feelings and that is when music comes to their aid. The collision of the cool Northern temper and Argentine passion leaves no soul cold.
Quinteto Fuego's debut album, "Quinteto Fuego Plays Piazzolla", was released on June 5th 2008 at the Jyväskylä Summer Jazz festival!
