Depuis 1990, Quintillo visite et revisite les musiques populaires d'Amérique Latine. Le groupe, à géométrie variable selon les projets qu'il dévelloppe, propose de voyager au travers d'une culture étonnamment diversifiée et riche. Chili, Vénézuela, Bolivie, Argentine, Cuba...autant d'escales musicales présentées au public.
Nourri d'influences multiples, Quintillo enregistre un premier album en 1994 ("Quintillo"), puis un second en 2001 ("De la nada y de siempre"), laissant la part belle à ses propres compositions. L'année 2007 est un retour aux musiques et chants Latino Américains, avec l'album "Sources", florilège de thèmes sélectionnés parmi le vaste répertoire du groupe.
Since 1990, Quintillo has paid hommage to the music of the people of Latin America. The group, a melting pot of artists with backgrounds in jazz, rock, folk and classical music, sends you on a musical journey through cultures which are as rich as they are diversified – Chili, Venezuela, Bolivia, Argentina, Cuba.
Quintillo released its debut album ("Quintillo") in 1994, containing their personal interpretation of traditional Latin American music and songs. Their second album, "De la nada y de siempre", released in 2001, contains original songs composed by the group, in a mix of rythms and music genres.
This new album, "Sources", released in 2007, marks a return to traditional music and songs of the people of Latin America, selected from Quintillo’s vast repertory.
