Everyone in the band has different influences. This is just a general idea of what we listen to. There are too many bands and artist to name.
Grant, Michael and Robert have been playing music together since the age of 13 or so. It took years and years to finally figure out who would play what instrument. Michael played drums for a while, rob and grant played the guitars. Quips started to get serious during our last years of high school. Michael put down the sticks and picked up a guitar and took over the vocal duties. Robert took over the bass duties, and grant with the other guitar. We found ourselves a drummer named Nick Bunzck to help us out. Translation Loss Records picked signed us when we were 19 years old and then we got to make an "actual" cd. Nick recorded "Amphetamines" and did a small string of shows before leaving the band. Grant, rob and michael kept writing new material. We played an acoustic show or two without a drummer until we realized how much we missed it. For about a year we had no drummer. Song after song after song after were recorded onto our trusty 4-track. Finally we landed with Morgan Tindall. After months of rehearsal the new album was written. Now Grant, Michael, and Robert are 22 years old. Morgan is just a few years older. The second release from Quips should come out early 2007. Expect to be blown away. The future looks bright for Quips. Free Pre Made Myspace Layouts
