love bellydancing and flamenco, which I both started in 1998. I love dancing and researching all sorts of styles- Egyptian cabaret: folk/saaidi, Turkish cabaret, Turkish Rom, Dunyavi (World) Gypsy , ATS (American Tribal), Moroccan schikhatt, Tunisian and learning/exploring styles, newer to me: Zambra Mora ( a form of flamenco, which was originally part of Gitano weddings in the Sacramento Hills, Spain, and has been developed in many Bellydance communities, as a form of Spanish-Arabic/bellydance fusion ), Berber Styles, West African dance, Tribal fusion and so on. I absolutely adore flamenco, even if it's quite a challenge, but a challenge worth pursuing. With both both flamenco and bellydance, I enjoy the various friendships, the travelling, the performances, the learning, the appreciation of the cultures, histories and the art! ; D I started teaching monthly Middle eastern dance classes, in June 2003. I teach English as a second and a foreign language at a college, so I work with a lot of foreign students, or people settled here, whose first language is not English. I like to write in my spare time- mainly articles on Middle eastern/Flamenco dance/culture/histories/arts//literature/ dance anthropology etc. I love drawing and illustrating too. I often write for Middle eastern dance magazines in the Uk and also websites. I'd like to try my hand at creative writing. I have many other interests including cinema/foreign cinema/languages/ different cultures, Moorish history/culture and arts, music, reading (anything!) the Arts, complementary medicine, socialising with good friends, good, intelligent converstion, the cafe culture, doing voluntary work with Oxfam, and so on.Sometimes I can be quiet and reflective, but I am friendly, sensitive and energetic; I love the company of good, kind, fun humorous and caring friends. I appreciate sensitivity, depth, generosity, humour and intelligence and learning from everyone!
