In 1999 something very important happened in the lives of three young Evanchuck men. They formed a band, wrote some funky/funny little tunes, and named themselves RABBITS AT WAR! Over the years they have played together infrequently, yet always found time for the R.A.W. They have covered a range of musical styles and kept things fresh every time. Armed with talent these guys were good...damn good...and they didn't care. But that's how it went with R.A.W. It was always "are we gonna do anything with this?"
They gave it hell '07. They practiced more than they ever had before. Actually, I don't think they ever practiced before. They recorded a damn fine E.P. and they played shows, consistently. It seemed like maybe this ragged bunch of Evanchucks might be on to something. But it turned out to be the same ol' R.A.W. story...good tunes, good times, nothing else.
Tom & Anthony are the source of the music. The both seemed to be born to play their instruments. Kyle, well, he wrote great lyrics. But he played the bass to his best ability. What he lacked in talent he sure as hell made up for in passion. You could see it when the band got cookin'. Tom and Anthony would leave the planet they'd get so lost in the groove, and Kyle held on for dear life...singing about anything that popped in his head at the moment.
At one point an old friend, Danny "Fat Liver", was invited to play in the band. This was short lived, but Danny was immortalized in song. He was the only outsider ever really invited to play with the R.A.W. Even jams and recordings were pretty "closed set". The bands ARA (assistant rodie assistant) Eric was one of few to see the band just get a beat going and ride it out til it collapsed on them.
Who knows if there is anything in this bands future. If you know anything about R.A.W. it's that nothing is set in stone. For good or Bad. You can't predict or pin down this band.
