RABIA SORDA "NOISE DIARY"
It is said that the second album is always the hardest to make… „Noise Diary“, the second outing from Hocico-front-shouter Erk Aicrag’s solo project effectively proves this theory wrong. Quite to the contrary, the energetic Mexican artist has created a new Rabia Sorda album that outshines the debut in all aspects. His Harsh-Electroclash-Cyberpunk-hybrid sounds more versatile and melodic but also more aggressive and powerful in 2009 than ever before. The self-confessed melody-junkie Erk has spiffed up his sound with more catchy elements than ever before (a good example being the single “Radio Paranoia”), only to overwhelm us with the hardest tracks he has ever recorded under his solo moniker in the very next moment. Vocally, Erk’s also a jack of all trades, this time around, taking the listener under fire with his most aggressive distorted screams outside of Hocico, angry Punk-shouts and raw, but catchy melodies. With a massive production from mixing-desk-wizard John Fryer, hard beats and driving bass lines, the album will take club crowds by storm, but then that was to be expected from a man like Mr. Aicrag. With “Noise Diary”, Rabia Sorda prove once again with an energetic fusion of melody and aggression that they are the most interesting and unique Hard-Electro-act out there. (release date: 25.09.09)

Es heißt ja immer, das zweite Album sei das Schwierigste … auf „Noise Diary“, dem neuen Album des Soloprojektes von Hocico-Front-Shouter Erk Aicrag ist von diesem Klischee rein gar nichts zu merken. Vielmehr hat das mexikanische Energiebündel mit dem Rabia-Sorda-Zweitling ein Album aus dem Ärmel geschüttelt, welches das Debüt in allen Belangen locker toppt. Noch abwechslungsreicher, eingängiger, aber streckenweise auch weitaus aggressiver und druckvoller klingt sein Harsh-Electroclash-Cyberpunk-Hybride Anno 2009. Da bereichert der bekennende Melodie-Junkie seinen Sound in Tracks wie der vorab-Single „Radio Paranoia“ einerseits mit rau-eingängigen Elementen, um gleich danach mit den härtesten Brettern aus den Boxen zu schallen, die er jemals unter seinem Solo-Banner aufgenommen hat. Auch stimmlich entpuppt sich Erk als Tausendsassa und nimmt den Hörer mit den aggressivsten Verzerrer-Shouts jenseits von Hocico, rotziger Punk-Attitüde und rau-herzlichen Gesangsmelodien unter sein flächendeckendes vokales Flak-Feuer. Mit einer druckvollen Produktion von Mischpult-Legende John Fryer, satten Beats und treibenden Bässen ist auch für den nötigen Club-Kick gesorgt, aber daran hätte bei einem Produkt aus der Feder von Erk Aicrag wohl eh’ niemand gezweifelt. Rabia Sorda zementieren mit „Noise Diary“ ihren Anspruch auf den Thron des interessantesten Hard-Electro-Acts der letzten Jahre mit einer Funken sprühenden Mischung aus Melodie und Härte.
