Zac & Sean met in 1993 at a birthday party in New Jersey. They became friends in 2001 when Zac invited Sean to play bass in a new band he was starting. Their band soon became the only psychedelic rock band in the So. Jersey/Philadelphia punk scene, landing them on an Anti-Bush concert at the Trocadero's main stage when they were 15&16 years old. Soon thereafter Zac quit playing soccer and Sean quit his high school basketball team. The band broke up in 2006. So it goes.
About a year and a half later they started what would become Raccoon Fighter in their project studio in NJ, recording a song that would be sampled and released on the Slum Village mixtape "Remember the Classics". They put together a 7 piece band and gigged regularly in Philadelphia before moving to Brooklyn as a duo in 2008. In August of 2009 they made their debut as a 4-piece rock act adding Nathan Terry on drums and Rusty Langley on bass. That month they played popular venues in New York, Philadelphia, DC, & Boston including the Glasslands Gallery, Piano's, Arlene's Grocery, Pete's Candy Store, Velvet Lounge, Zu Zu @ the Middle East, The Northstar and more.
Turn Up The Sound has declared them as "Great raw rock, finally a band that doesn't sound like the Ting Tings".
