Does anyone know what indian tribe Raccoon is originally from? I know he says it in Rainbow Warrior, and it sounds like "Shawntee" or "Chante," but I can't find that tribe anywhere.
There is a "Shawnee" indian, but I know there is a "t" in the song.

thanx for the add !!!
i had lost touch with coon in the early 90's. only word i heard was he was in dc. was reunited with a mutual friend last week, he told me about coon going home & this site. very beautiful thing this is ... thank you for being here.
i built a fire last saturday night & sat there listening to coon toasting him with jagermister. coon introduced me to jager. have a copy of rainbow warriors that i got from coon in 89. it broke in the late 90's. i tried many times to find him on the web, with no luck. sad that i found him this way ... at least now i know where he is :(
i will never forget him or the things we talked about. i can now start back sharing his words & music again.
peace and love my brother ... see you on the road :)

It's been awhile since i've accessed myspace. I am happy to say I have spread his music around. Quite a few people I know love his music & wanted copies of my cds & I was happy to make them for them. I still listen to the music regularly & it always makes my day to do it. Just wish he was around to make more. I still miss Raccoon. Always will. Sigh.

The first time I met raccoon was across the street from the whitehouse. He was holding the nuclear arms vigil when I walked up. It was the night before hempfest and I had just got there from North Carolina. He asked me to sit on the box until he got back and I said yes. After that we saw each other many times at different events and hung out and played guitar together around the fire. Miss you man. You were real. As real as it gets. God bless you.

I finally found out who wrote 2 of my most favorite songs of all time. I think John is going to post them here...Check out my bands interpretation....these are from 10-15 years ago.. from crowd taper at one of my bands shows. I am super excited to hear some more of his tunes!Anyone who remembers us form Frostburg...Whats up! I am interested to read and find out about this amazing songwriter who I think I met once or twice but never made the connection about who he was.
