Race 101 consists of three guys: Darrell Ike, Ben Berryman and Steve Fogt from Sidney, OH.... An area where the music scene hasn't really been kickin' since the mid-late 90's. The band began in 2002 mixing many different genre's into one it was the intention to try to rebuild a once half way decent scene. Most influences varied from the area's early local acts including bands such as: NOB, Workhorse, Valve, The Reefer Hut, Liquid Legbone, Fore Child, Crush Effekt and many more.. We try to get away from your everyday typical music and mainstream sounds, this would be why we are still independent. We do not want to change for anyone! Race 101 has gained quite a following with one of the fullest sounds coming from a 3-piece band. The band has managed to keep going and still performing with it's orginal line-up which seems to be very uncommon anymore."We've seen other bands come and go and we always support! "
The shows are very energetic keeping everyone's attention with the grooving hardcore and a touch of funky jazz beats and a mix of metal, thrash, punk, groove and some catchy guitar work, There's something for everyone in this band. Guys,i dig what you are doing with A Tough Break,and Ben does an excellent job running sound at The Sidney..but i fucking miss Race101!!..Best Sidney Band Ever,Hands Down!!..Good Luck in what you are doing,still hoping for a Race show sometime soon though!..Keep Rockin Mikey
