Sam Houston Park 8AM Houston Texas
Darfur is a region in western Sudan plagued with a major humanitarian issue stemming from millions being displaced by conflict between warring factions. As with any war situation many innocents have been killed, estimates come in the neighborhood of 400,000.
This region is no stranger to war, but of course its no excuse for atrocity, which is the reason for this statement. In the US this story is not being widely told, or even mentioned most of the time, so awareness is the first battle we must win. On Sunday February 25th Sam Houston Park, there will be an event to raise awareness in the cause, “Race to Save Darfur”.
