   About Racetrack
Racetrack was a band that mostly existed in Bellingham, Washington. Our first show was February 21st, 2001. Our last show was October 21st, 2006. We put out one full length, two ep's, and several limited releases and compilation appearances. We did three full nationwide tours, one west coast tour, and countless northwest jaunts. The three of us each now have several different music, recording, and life projects going on.

All booking inquiries will be politely declined, but we do still try to keep up with any messages sent here or to our email address. Thank you for visiting!

We're featured on the KEXP's "Music That Matters" podcast (32) and their Song of the Day for Friday 1/12. Look for us in the January issue of Seattle Sound magazine.

Buy go ahead and say it online at Sonic Boom Records, InSound and Interpunk. If you buy music digitally you can find us on: iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and many others...

1. Don't Sit on the Pickets
2. The War at Home
3. Sure Thing!
4. Jumping the Shark
5. Recidivism

Featuring Harvey Danger's Sean Nelson on vocals, the production of Cameron Nicklaus, and original art by Jim Ward Morris. "Go Ahead and Say It", is more than just a stop gap release before the next full length record. There are no remixes or acoustic demos or live tracks. Instead, these five songs are presented without filler, a stand alone release...

Available at the following Northwest independent record stores: Cellophane Square, Ear Candy (Missoula), Easy Street Records (West Seattle), Everyday Music (Seattle/Bellingham), Georgetown Records, the Landing, Rocket Records (Tacoma), Sonic Boom Records (all locations), Silver Platters (all locations), One World (Moscow, ID), Avalon (Bellingham).

We are a three piece power-pop band of the loud variety from Bellingham, WA. Meghan and Jackson started playing together around 2000, went through a couple bass players and relocations across the northern United States, until they were both settled in Bellingham in early 2003. They then also settled upon Chris for their bass player.

We've toured the country thrice, the west coast once, and have made numerous regional trips across the northwest. We've played with bands such as Built to Spill, Aqueduct, the Long Winters, the Posies, Harvey Danger, the Thermals, the Reputation, Smoosh, Headphones (Pedro The Lion), the Prom, Palomar, Aveo, the Epoxies, Mary Timony, Carissa's Wierd, and the Pale Pacific, along with countless other regionally known bands in the northwest and mid-west.

In September of 2004 we released our first full length, "City Lights", on Seattle's Skrocki Records. It was recorded and mixed by Death Cab For Cutie guitarist Chris Walla, who's other credits include Death Cab, Hot Hot Heat, the Velvet Teen, and the Thermals.

Jennifer Przybylski at NEUMU says:
"Racetrack played out a lot before recording City Lights, and it's all over this record...undeniably capturing the same wall-charging fervor that was best heard in a live club, with you right up against the edge of the stage (and with the scree of distortion sounding just as rebellious as it did in decades past)."

If you're interested in purchasing "City Lights," go to the Skrocki Records homepage (you can also find excellent records there by So Many Dynamos, the Revolutionary Hydra, Slomo Rabbit Kick, Rat Cat Hogan and the cassette release of Death Cab's "Transatlanticism"), and make sure to tell Robbie hi!

I remember this one house show you three played in Olympia during the time I was living there. Only four people, besides me, showed up so you might have been very disappointed with the turnout. But just thought you should know that one of those strangers on the couch ended up talking to me all night and we are, to this day, real friends. So thank you. I owe ya'll one.
