    Rachael Huntington's Interests
GeneralDrawing, tattoos, tattooing, dressing up, Goth/Deathrock clubs, goth events and festivals, modelling (now again, because it's fun), painting, Photoshop, latex clothing, BIG hair and other stuff, I'm sure...
MusicMy tastes tend to bounce around all over the place as I use music to enhance my drawing, so what I listen to at any given time tends to be dictated by what projects I have on the go. We love a bit of rockabilly and psychobilly at the tattoo studio, although I'll listen to most things if it has a good beat, is emotive or I can twat-dance to. Given the choice I tend to resort to my Goth and Deathrock music collection though!
MoviesAnything with incredible character/creature design or special effects is sure to capture my attention. There was a time when I was convinced I would go into film SFX effects. That never happened, but my love for film (mainly sci-fi and fantasy) lives on. Favourites include: The Dark Crystal, Legend, Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, The Adventures of Priscilla - Queen Of The Desert, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Preaching to the Perverted, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop Of Horrors, Nightbreed, Hellraiser, Donnie Darko, Nightwatch, Serenity, Star Wars, Nightmare Before Christmas and a whole lot more...
TelevisionThe Munsters. Television viewing doesn't get much better than that, except perhaps for The Addams Family. Despite initial resistance I became a bit keen on Buffy, have always loved Star Trek (and in my younger years Dr Who as well, with quite worrying obsessiveness) and can't quite get enough of Futurama. Red Dwarf will always have a special place in my heart, as will Black Adder. I'm currently enjoying Lost, The 4400 and A Town Called Eureka, and have the dirty habit of tuning into the 'Next Top Model' series. Bad me. Miami Ink makes for good telly viewing too, and has provided some great Monday morning conversation material at the studio.
BooksI absolutely adore Jeff Noon books, especially 'Pollen'. The usual suspects like Stephen King and Clive Barker are always worthy of note, and 'Rapture' by David Sosnowski keeps me going back for more every couple of years. I also like a good auto-biography now and again. I used to mildly enjoy the Harry Potter books, until I reached saturation point while working on the computer games at Electronic Arts, and now the magic has gone for me!
HeroesHuge art-based influences (rather than heroes as such) have to be Rodney Matthews, whose 'art of' books still keep me inspired even today, Brom, Alphonse Mucha, George Petty, Hayao Miyazaki and hosts of others.

About me:

Layout originally designed byRed Dragon Designs
This one is made by Belladonna's Dark Graphics

I draw. If you've found me, it's probably due to an interest in my art, which I thank you immensely for.

My website, www.rachaelhuntington.com showcases a large collection of my illustrations, but I'm hoping that this place can offer a slightly more personal forum in which to show my work, make announcements and keep people updated with the latest news.

I sell the vast majority of my illustrations as prints, so do visit my website that now features an online shopping cart facility if you would like to purchase any artwork.

As for my style, I'll admit to liking the slightly darker side of things, hence having what you could call a bit of an 'alternative edge' to a lot of what I do. It's not ALL that I do though, but it is in the majority.

I'm also a tattoo artist at Rampant Ink, Nottingham, which is a whole new incredible adventure. I aim to show my progress here, as it could either help other aspiring tattoo artists or just offer everybody a laugh at my expense.

I also do a touch of modelling, for fun, but that's a whole other ego trip that is better explored here:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You can normally find me on a Saturday at one of these club nights:

Kreepers, a kick-ass night out catering for the more Rockabilly/Psychobilly/Horror Punk side of things:

London based fiend-tastic 'Dead and Buried', the UK's first, premier and leading [contemporary] Deathrock clubnight:

Photobucket

...and I'll be at this!!

Photobucket
Who I'd like to meet:

People who inspire. Luckily, I've met a fair few already. There's always room for more though.

...ah yes, and I know that my images are used rather widely on MySpace as well as other places on the internet as avatars, banners, graphics and the like. I am now signed up with CILM so *PLEASE* make sure you purchase images via their website (the vast majority of my online portfolio is available in the three packages they offer, including my more recent work). My artwork is my livelihood, and having my work stolen rather than acquired through offical channels is a real kick in the teeth for me, not to mention illegal.

If I ever find people using my art illegally for profit I WILL come down on you like a ton of bricks. Sadly, I've had to do that a few times, so be warned. Even I have my limits. Cheers

Hey Rachael, I will be back next year at the Americana festival, I hope to spot you then.
I totally like your tattooish cartoons and esp. the Dietrich one, with the cigarette in style.
Does she have a name?

hahahaha yes i saw that on Youtube, and he really diserved it! If he hadn't of said anything to cause it i would of pitied him a tiny bit, but that fact he
unnecessarily insulted Eva O i coulnd't help but shout *yeah you got what you FUCKING diserved!!*
I guess WGT being an deathrock Festival, it was risky having him play full stop. I think WGW will be a relief... until someone punches him again ;)
