BIO: I have always been an artist, but I picked up photography when I was 13. I love working with animals in photography, and as a freelance photographer I am branching out to do many other things as well. With my personal work, I enjoy photographing animals, landscapes, and abandoned buildings. My 'aged' works are influenced by vintage photographs. Thank you for visiting!
I attend Columbus College of Art and Design, I'm a member of the Licking County Arts Association, and I am also the staff photographer for an organization called Stop the Suffering. We rescue dogs and cats from shelters and find them loving homes when their time at the shelter is up- sometimes saving them just minutes before they are destroyed! learn more at www.stopthesuffering.org
Don't believe the myths about shelter pets, give these guys a second chance!

At this time I do not offer indoor shoots. This also includes indoor concerts. I do not have the proper equipment to do those at this time, sorry for the inconvenience.
I am an artist, so each of my photographs are a work of art. No fake backdrops, or forced posing. I think this is very different compared to most freelance photographers out there. I see far too many photographers whose clients end up with photographs that look very similar to each other because there are only so many fake backdrops. A beautiful outdoor setting makes a photo far more interesting. Because I prefer the more 'natural' approach; I prefer to work outdoors with natural lighting, that means no boring, indoor studios!
my work has been displayed at the following juried shows:
CCAD's Scholastic Art Awards in 2006.
(one piece displayed, an Honorable Mention awarded)
The Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition in 2006.
(one piece displayed)
LCA June Juried Show in 2007.
(three pieces displayed, one receiving 1st place in photography)
Fairfield County Library Art Show in 2007.
(one piece displayed.)
AAF New York City (Manhattan) in 2008.
(two pieces displayed)
LCA June Juried Show in 2008.
(two pieces displayed, one receiving 2nd place in photography)
CONTACT: If you would like to book a shoot, you can contact me either through myspace, or by sending me an email at:
rachellaurenphotography@gmail.com
booking must be made at least two weeks in advance. I have had many people contact me asking if I can do their shoot in just a few days, and this is not possible. Keep in mind that many photographers book sometimes months in advance, so I think a two week wait is pretty short :)
PRICING: Sessions start at $150. After the shoot you will receive all of your images saved to a CD with shared rights (shared rights being negotiable if you are a musician, etc). There are no limits as to how many images you can acquire in a session.
PRINTS AVAILABLE. Prints are now available of my personal work. Message/email if interested.
MY WORK MUST NOT BE USED WITHOUT PERMISSION.
Feel free to take one of these banners and use it on your myspace, or wherever!
