trying not to be down on the weather. hangin' with my boys. drinking my own stove-top espresso. taking pictures with my cell phone. blogging on my blog. oh, and reading, reading, reading...
Music
mostly i listen to the sound of street traffic, the hum of the fish tank that houses our two frogs, and the incessant whirring of the highly irratic DVR. otherwise, sometimes i listen to: carla bruni, lily allen, sufjan stevens, damien jurado, other desert cities, danielson, etc...
Movies
lately we enjoyed: lucky number slevin, the departed, everything is illuminated, pitch black, children of men, the fountain, the painted veil. confession: our netflix queue is over 450 movies long. i guess that makes me a movie junkie?
Television
not much new tv, besides LOST, and baseball games. however, i have discovered the re-run channel, so, francis is getting introduced to: magnum,P.I., the A-team, knight rider, airwolf, mission: impossible, hawaii five-0, the brady bunch, etc, etc, and believe it or not, he LOVES: i love lucy. and now i love it.
Books
books i enjoyed this summer: jane eyre,
to kill a mockingbird, life of pi, the chronicles of narnia, wuthering heights, pride and prejudice, the remains of the day, the unbearable lightness of being, under the tuscan sun, olivia joules and the overactive imagination
Heroes
people who volunteer their time to worthy causes...i've never been good with that

About me: i blog frequently at www.rachelnyssen.blogspot.com.
i am an east-coast girl living in seattle.
i miss having blue skies on a fairly regular basis.
i grumble about the weather quite a bit.
i drink coffee every morning, and tea every afternoon.
also, seattle has horrible drivers, and i'm not one of them.
I had a great time, and I'm really looking forward to coming back for Kat's wedding. As always, you guys are more then welcome to come visit us in Denver! One of these days I'll get a blog going like the rest of ya so we can keep in better touch. Good luck with Francis' first day of school! xoxo
Happy New Year to you and yours! Denver's been fun! Blizzards not so fun. But at least I get to see blue skies on a regular basis now. Hang in there, spring is only a few months away!
