hello, sorry for the random add, its just i saw your profile on im sorry callfield's site and i wanted to add you because i want to go into music photography myself. at the moment im trying to get myself around, and i have bands at college i shoot photos for,

any advice or feedback on the pics would be great if you have the time. The pic quality isnt fantastic but thats because i was unfortunatly on a friends point-and-shoot digi cam, but i have just bourght a canon 350D so shots in the future will be far crisper!

We're playing tonight at The Junction - supporting Angel Bass with The Plug and Craig Whitehead. First gig in York for 2 months, first ever gig at The Junction & we've got new songs... so please come down for music, booze and FUN! It'll rock your socks off!!
I was wondering if at some point over December we could get together to do some promo shots? Basically me just stood round in some woods or something looking moody. If we could get a piano, that'd be amazing. :) But I'll leave the artistic vision up to you. As long as it looks gothy and cool. :)

Hello there...just realised we didnt have a link to you on our page, so quickly rectified that situation. We're taking a bit of a break from gigging and what not, trying to make ourselves good lol and at some point soon i think we're gonna be wanting to do some sort of photo shoot...would you be intrested in helping us out with it? We really liked the live stuff you did for us so it'd be cool if we could do some promo stuff together? Anyway, just let us know what you think.

jesmond dene is in newcastle.. just down the end of my street! the PP was quite simple, a tiny bit of levels and sharpening and then I used a velvia PS action for the colours.
You seem to be getting better and better Rachel, I really like your Billy Talent shots :) especially your profile shot. Very nice. Next week is freshers so back to alot of photographing for me and then after that i'll be getting to as many uni gigs as I can.
Hey, honey. Just wondering if you'd had the chance to sort some of those photos out yet? Thanks again for doing them. If it would be possible, I'd really like to do some proper promo shots of me just generally standing around being moody....LOL
I'm not sure about shooting the bigger band, hopefully they will let me. For now, i'm hoping that i'll even getto do the shoot as my friend's not got back to me about the date, I might be back at university by the time the gig is. If so, I guess i'll just have to take some photos of bands at the union :)
Taking photos for that mag is a good start, I think to get anywhere in this business you've got to put in alot of your own (free) time and money. Hopefully in the end it will all be worthwhile.
I just want to get a chance to test out the Tammy under lowlight, do you find using your Sigma at 2.4 gets you good results? I'm just wondering as I used my 50mm 1.8 wide open most of the time.
I managed to get myself a Tamron 28-75 XR Di from American for £182, I went out with today... very happy with it! As all the reviews say it is fantastic optics wise, the build is fine for me too- it is pretty underrated. Wouldn't of minded the Sigma but I could do with some cash to buy a CP and the Sigma takes alot bigger filters.
I also got speaking to a friend of mine, his band are playing with one of the biggest regional bands in the next few weeks and he asked if I wanted to go take some photos... so naturally I said yes :)

Heard you're coming to the gig on Sunday. :) Cool! The stage is at the art gallery on the boulevard...dunno much about the gig, though. LOL I'm only on for 20 mins, but it should be good. :) Do you think you'll be able to get some photos?! If you can, that'd be class. Possibly black and white? Somebody told me it was more flattering. LOL But you know best....
