Jesus Christ has radically and profoundly affected my life -- He does so every day. So I'm interested in things like Bible, ministry, prayer -- anything that involves the Holy Spirit. Miracles. Dreams and visions. Praying in tongues. You know, all of the usual Holy Roller stuff you were probably taught to be skeptical of! But while my feet are still on the ground, I'm a big-time music buff (bass, sax and keyboard player and avid listener) as well as an auto racing superfreak. I love NASCAR Nextel Cup (24, 88, 14), Nationwide, Camping World trucks, IRL, NHRA (John Force rules), WoO (Schatz, S. Swindell, S. Kinser and, of course, the Wild Child) and sprint cars everywhere -- hey, I like almost anything fast, loud and smelly. Other interests: my extended family, friends, my '58 Edsel that I hope I finish restoring one day, eating, travel (cruises are a new-found obsession), American history, tennis (playing, not watching), Yankee baseball, UNM Lobo football and basketball (the NBA stinks), AHS Bulldogs, garage sales, e-bay, cooling out, sleeping in, going fast, being loud.
Music
An ecclectic combination of anything gutsy and sincere, such as: Bruce Springsteen, U2, DMB, Enya, Heather Clark, Newsboys, the Beatles, Montgomery Gentry, JoAnn McFatter, Tom Petty, Lyle Lovett, Peter Gabriel, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Joshua Mills, Coldplay, Frank Sinatra, Steve Earle, Don Henley, Mazzy Star, Three Dog Night, Chris Isaak, Misty Edwards, Bruce Hornsby, Sheryl Crow, Georgian Banov, B-52's, Louie Prima, and many, many others -- way too numerous to mention. And, of course, Shekinah and Deutch Drama Queen -- personal faves!

Movies
So many, so many... Let's start with the Godfather trilogy (III is my favorite, and I know that's unusual, but II really shoulda been two movies -- I read the book...) 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Star Trek and Star Wars movies (bein' heavenly minded), Slingblade, The Sting, Man on Fire, Thunder Road, Grand Prix, Bronco Billy (my life story!), Tombstone (thanks to Em), Awakenings, Holy Grail, Young Frankenstein, all of The Pink Panther (with Peter Sellers) movies, all of the 007 movies, and lots, lots more that I'm not remembering at the moment... Some make me laugh, some make me sad, some are exciting, but a favorite movie alwas takes you somewhere with it! My new fave is "Death Sentence", but I probably shouldn't like a movie about revenge as much as I do!
I don't watch much prime-time network TV. And, to be honest, I don't watch much Christian TV unless I really like who's on (but I love it when IHOP is on God TV!). The Speed Channel is my only TV requirement -- I could live with that being my only channel. My favorite show is Boston Legal, and I've enjoyed the first few episodes of Life on Mars. I really liked the Sopranos (sorry!), and Emoly was sorta getting me into 24. Annie has just gotten me interested in Monk because she thinks I'm him. I also like home improvement shows (Design on a Dime, Landscapers' Challenge, etc.), the History Channel, Link TV (especially World Videos), RFD TV (I like trains and tractors, and Big Joe kicks!) and reruns -- Star Trek and Star Trek Next Gen, '60's sitcoms and action series's.
Books
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus... right thru Revelation. (it's a good idea to start with John, tho), everything by Kenneth Hagin Sr., Claudia Baca-Moore, and E.W. Kenyon; bios of interesting people and chronicles of interesting historical events...
Heroes
God, who is, well... God. All by Himself. The Holy Spirit who came and found me, then made a perfectly timed play for me. Jesus Christ who paid the ultimate price. My parents, who gave everything up for my health and well-being, and who raised me with the confidence that I could do anything I really wanted to accomplish. Gotta include my wife, Claudia, here -- every time she stands to preach, she proves that God's power to heal is greater than the damage a malpracticing neurologist from a well-known Albuquerque HMO might otherwise cause. And, anyone else who's paid a little of the price, too -- like those who stick-up for the Gospel at any cost, the soldiers we send to war, and the police officers, firefighters and paramedics we hire to save our lives. High-fives to Christian brothers and sisters who've stuck it out thus far, to race car drivers, sax and bass players, and to the millions of folks who do it right day after day and never get recognized for it.

About me: I'm a pastor (the Bible-believing, Holy Spirit-filled kind), musician and auto racing fan. I'm married to an amazingly gifted Bible teacher and kisser, I have a one-of-a-kind daughter called by God to change nations, the most beautiful grandson ever created in the history of mankind, and I have a wonderfully supportive dad and mom and mother-in-law (my father-in-law, Eric, would be included here but he passed away on August 13th, 2008). I also own a small business -- it helps "float the boat". I think of myself as a "jack-of-all-trades, master of none". I'm better at a lot of things than most people are, but I'm not truly superb at any one thing. The positive about that is you get to wear lots of different hats! I'm part of the 5% of people who are equally right and left brained. And I'm the only child of two only children. I'm a "loyalty" junkie. I value it highly, am prepared to give it, and I expect it back. As time has passed, I don't have a ton of super-close friends, but I do have many, many good friends -- including the first friend I ever made! Brownies (plain -- no nuts, no frosting) are my all-time favorite food (I think). And green chili. The information listed above should explain just about all of my quirks, idiosyncrasies, and behaviorial anomalies! But truly, I must say, I'm supernaturally blessed beyond reason in so many ways. I'm sure that I take a lot of blessings for granted, but I am very, very grateful. Like Joe Walsh says, "life's been good to me so far", and I have the Lord above to thank for it.
Who I'd like to meet: In heaven:
Jesus -- I've already met Him, but I want to see Him -- know what I mean? I'm sure that my father-in-law Eric would introduce me to everyone else up there like he did for me here on earth. That would include: my grandfather Fred who loved me above all else I'm told, Daniel (the lion's den guy), Paul (the Apostle guy), Martin Luther, Mickey Mantle, Laurel & Hardy, Fireball Roberts, Dale Earnhardt, Jimmy Clark, Graham Hill, Bruce McLaren, JFK, Truman, Washington, Lincoln, Jack Coe, Smith Wigglesworth, A.A. Allen, William Branham, and lots of others.
Here on earth:
Truth is, I've met more than my share of famous people. I met just about every '70's rock star back in the day, and their general shallowness and loneliness (with a few notable exceptions, of course) made me think that there must be more to life than being rich and famous. More recently, I've had the honor of meeting a great many well-known Christian ministers of the day, and I'd say that just about all of them (with even fewer exceptions) are the "real deal", and I'm proud to call a number of them my friends. But the bigger lesson for me is, people are people -- no more and no less. That said, I think I'd still like to meet Bono & Larry from U2, Bruce & Patti Springsteen, Dave Matthews and Jeff Gordon. And Ric Flair. I think I'd get along great with Peter Gabriel and Bruce Willis. I'd also like to have a respectful heart-to-heart with President Obama and tell him what a good idea it would be to strike-up a friendship with our good friends Paul Cain and Bob Jones.
On MySpace:
Anybody cool and fun. No chips-on-your-shoulders, no pre-conceived agendas (lighten up!), and no MySpace koochie-ho's -- unless you want the Anointing to smack you like a wet towel!
You Should Play the Accordion
You are eccentric, funky, wacky... definitely one of a kind.
People have trouble putting you in any one particular category. You definitely have your own thing going on.
You are a born entertainer. No wonder you'd be perfect as an one man (or one woman) band.
Your musical influences likely cross all genres - and blend together in a very unusual way.
While you are definitely offbeat, you also enjoy tradition and influences from the past.
It's just your style to take an old fashioned instrument like the accordion and make it uniquely yours.
Your dominant personality characteristic: your total lack of inhibition
Your secondary personality characteristic: your interest in obscure activities and subjects
You believe in God and your chosen religion.
Whether you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Hindu..
Your convictions are strong and unwavering.
You think your religion is the one true way, for everyone.
You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you.
But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft.
You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily.
You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out.
