Racket Rock Productions is the theatre company alter-ego of writer/performer Jordan M Stewart. Founded with the show The Band: A (True) Rock N Roll Story in 2005, Jordan performed this first one-man show at the Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe festivals. Based on the book "Cheese Chronicals" by Tommy Womack, the show received great reviews ("Must-See Fringe"! - Bartley Kives, Winnipeg Free Press) and convinced Jordan to begin work on a second show... a follow up if you will... KARAOKE SUPERSTAR!
Alone in the spotlight, the singer stands poised to deliver the performance of his life. The crowd buzzes, the music begins and the moment of truth arrives.
Jordan Stewart (The Band - Fringe 2005) returns with a new comedy about music, love… and destiny.
4 STARS in the Winnipeg Sun!
"In the world of karaoke, Jordan Stewart is king. Entering the realm of competitive karaoke and its colourful characters, Stewart takes Fringers on a musical odyssey with some of the best songs ever written. His one-man show lauds the lead singer as not only the most important part of a band, but an integral part of society. They're the people we dream of being — and armed with a microphone and teleprompter, Stewart steps into their shoes with passion. Stewart kicks out the jams throughout his show, performing numbers from Neil Diamond, Patsy Cline and Corey Hart, to name a few. Concern for the fire code was the only thing preventing lighters from swaying in the air during Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorn. Although the competition for karaoke supremacy is fierce, the true winners are those in attendance. Sun Rating: 4 out of 5"
