About me: Rad clothing. We seek the Unique & the Unusual. Brand or age isn't really important, but being CLEAN and in excellent condition is. Mens and larger ladies sizes are especially good. Vintage and extra spectacular pieces are always accepted no matter how full we are! Worn, torn, faded, stained, boring, shrunken, or stinky need not apply.
If you think you have some clothing that will make the cut, you can call for an appointment for us to view your items. This lets us take the time to pay extra attention.You may buy with confidence that your new garment is ready to wear.
We are pleased and proud to offer the services of an excellent and talented seamstress. Jennifer Duvall, also known as "Ho-Made" has been selling her quality designs at Rad Betty's for two years now. Make an appointment for a day and time that's convenient for you. She can fulfill any garment need or dream. Alteration, repair, vintage remakes, custom creations. All she needs is a photo. Did I mention how nice she is?

As far as your vintage clothing finds are concerned, the dryer is not your friend! If you care for your new vintage piece properly it will reward you with literally decades of wear.
Depending on the fabric, hand washing in Woolite or dry cleaning may be in order. This goes for wool, jersey knit, silk, and anything with beads or sequins. Always check the care label. A good long soak (30 min) in lukewarm water, swish, roll in a clean white towel to remove excess water. Never wring or twist. Dry flat after reshaping.
Oxyclean is a miracle for brightening and stain removal. For less delicate items, use the gentlest setting your washer offers, cold water, mild detergent, and hang dry or dry flat. Wet fibers are weak, and hanging can cause it to stretch out of shape, or even to tear under its own weight. Synthetics, such as nylon and polyester are especially sensitive to heat. Pretend they're plastic. To prevent wrinkles, hang immediately. Too late? Steam, or place in a warm (not hot) dryer with a damp washcloth and tumble for 10-15 min.

haha! yeah, my dear friend, susan, has been working on hers for a year now - maybe a hair more - but hers are in awesome curly hair and mine will never ever look like hers...patience is a must, i am sure. i hope i have it in me! lol. how are things? hectic as the last weekend is here, i am sure. i wish you love!! :) next time i am in reno we should get to pneumatic's for some grub. :) keep in touch!
I just found out yesterday and I'm am truly sad:( I've been shopping at rad Bettys since my career as a hairdresser began when it was on 1st street. Reno is going to be sorry losing it's first cool vintage clothing store. She has paved the way for others to grow their businesses and supported the gay community like she is one of our own. It Is bittersweet and extremely heartbreaking knowing that the doors are closing for good. I would hope eveyone will pull out their pocketbooks buy some clothes and let shelly go out with a bang!!! A Salon 7 loves Rad Bettys and always will.
