I'm 33 years old, a rabbi, a sincerely religious young man running a Messianic congregation in Fresno, California. I also serve as the Director of Youth, Education, & Singles Ministries for CTOMC. I'm seeking to improve myself and find the one whom God has set aside for me.
Additionally, my political beliefs are what I would call "classical liberal": like Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan. Somewhere between modern-day conservatism and libertarianism, but not quite. I'm a major conversationalist. I like to chat with people more than going to a movie or whatever, although I like that too. I recently came out with my first book (on religion) entitled "Beyond Salvation: Why Believers in Jesus Should Keep the Torah," which is available at http://beyondsalvation.info . I have a position paper on our identity in Messiah in the works, and I've been requested to soon put out another book of religious thought as well as a book of my poetry, which includes works of a religious, romantic, political, and social nature.
Other projects I'm working on: I want to record two CDs in the coming year: one of Messianic music and one of "popular" (country) music. I have several possible film and TV scripts in the works, and I may have finally found an artist for a religious comic book series I've been thinking about for years.
As if all that isn't enough work, I host a religious radio talk show based on my book, I'm establishing a teaching ministry based on the ideas in my book and more to bring these ideas to non-Messianic churches ( http://oldideas.net ), and I'm pondering starting a new blog devoted to observations and analysis prompted by watching THE O'REILLY FACTOR (of which I am a big fan). This would be in addition to my current blog on my mySpace page, http://myspace.com/radicalrabbi . You can also hear the title track of my forthcoming religious CD, "Under His Tallit," on my mySpace.
I also like listening to music and singing karaoke. I enjoy reading sci-fi, historical, and military fiction. Of course, I like discussing current events and other topics. I used to say that I was sort of a geek, but since I don't meet some qualifications for geek, a friend recommended awhile back that I change that description to "undercover Renaissance man." I have also worked on and off for the last six years in radio; I am currently a board operator with Clear Channel Radio Fresno.
This year, Pesach (Passover) falls on the same day of the week (Wednesday evening) as it did in the days of the Exodus from Egypt. This means that Pesach this year lines up, day by day, as it did the seven days of Pesach in the days when Moshe (Moses) took Israel out of Egypt!! Not only that, it lines up exactly with the year Yeshua was crucified and arose!!! Yesterday, the 14th of Nisan - Wednesday - was the day Yeshua was crucified, at 3PM!! This is a rare occurrence!! HalleluYah!!! Happy Passover and Resurrection Day!!!
