Bio:

Clyde Jr Carrington aka Radical 1 the 1st of his mothers’ three offsprings, & also the 2nd among his siblings due to his fathers’ 1st born subsequently. A Trinidadian by birth & an American in the latter, at the age of 6 his mother migrated to Brooklyn New York with him his younger sister & brother. Quickly captivated by the American way of life, & still very impressionable at that young age his choice of influence was distorted by the rough nieghbourhood & misguided youths that surrounded him. His father at that time served as a special force’s military operator, & with the news of the negative impact the environment was having on Clyde Jr he & his mother decided a few months before his tenth birthday it was best that he & his brother & sister be brought up back home in the islands. A father figure in a younger boys’ life really makes the difference, Three years of primary school went quick then it was on to Secondary school where he discovered his love for music, it started off with drumming the desktops & chanting, mimicking the dancehall sound the popular urban choice among Trinidadian youths, as time passed it was very obvious to his peers that he was developing his own unique style & was beginning to be of fair game admist the popular rivals he encountered at school & in his home town of Santa Rosa Arima. Music began to play an integral role in his life more than ever the need to learn & perfecting his craft was of utmost importance so playing the role of a mic man was of no surprise, Chillfactah Sound System was the name of the group that he became apart of which after 2 months he decided to leave & volunteered more of his time to the local church choir which also he decided to leave but not without experience & knowledge gained. Having completed Secondary School & being employed as a Factory worker he learned the ups & downs of adulthood, the taste of independence & some financial security sadly over shawdowed his musical pursuits, 1year had past with little or no mention of music until he was invite by his Good friend Sean Davis & Marvin Bertrand to a carnival fete in Sangre Grande. It was a big show all the big names in the soca arena were there, & performed splendidly but 3SUNS 3 young dynamic Talents really caught his eye. A couple weeks after the show in Sangre Grande him, Cupid, Splinter, & Smiley decided to start a singing group called Coconut Mafia, they tried to really get the group up & running but due to lack of funds everybody parted ways, around that time his mother mentioned that he go over broad to try & better himself which he gave second thoughts but then made the decision & took the opportunity as a way to save money & make contacts to better himself & look out for his bredrinds. In summer 2004 Radical 1 made the transition from Arima resident to New York resident, meeting up friends he grew up in Santa Rosa which made the transition even easier. To weeks in NY & he became part of Chillfactah Soundsystem again but this time with Wartone an original member & Reddo & Joker ,things were going good but his original intention was to establish himself as an artist. He was introduced to Groovy D Studios by Wartone where he learned the fundamentals of studio life & is now pursuing his dream. So far he has done work with Corrosive Studios, Fortune a r&b group & is currently apart of C.F.Entertainment, his single Carnival Time would be in circulation for Carnival 2k7.
