This space is the "historical" record of the last of the 7 editions of The Awards for World Music run by the BBC.
While the Awards won't take place anymore Radio 3 is still committed to the discovery and promotion of World Music, which is broadcast weekly by three programmes, the links to these are below.

The BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music celebrate their seventh year.

The winning artists were announced on 10th April 2008 at a winner's ceremony in London broadcast on 11th April from 7pm as Radio 3's Performance on 3.

The Award Winners' Concert took place on 30th July 2008 at the Royal Albert Hall, part of the BBC Proms. See video excerpts of the television broadcast below.
