C14 is an entropic combination of the experimentation of its members. Guitarist and vocalist Caitlin Henderson began writing songs at the age of 14, and flew solo for a few years before finding a creative kindred spirit in pianist Jane Hawkey. Together they formed C14 on the way from a science class one day, and then recruited a second vocalist and triangle player, Jess Gay, to complete their own particular sound.
Their music is an ever-shifting entity in which each song is the attempt to discover and harness something just a little bit different. It's a little bit of folk, a little bit alternative, and a little bit of carbon. It is a mark of the joy they find in the creative process of making music that their songs can contain anything from a rainstick, to quirky vocal counter-melodies, or the strangest word they could find in the dictionary. Then comes the greatest experience - sharing the music with you. The reaching out and touching of human nature.
Otherwise, C14 simply enjoy shooting protons at music in the hope of creating an entirely new element. You can judge if they have been successful.
