About me:

I am a long-time radio broadcaster in the Tallahassee, Florida radio market. I've done on-air work for WTAL-AM 1450 (1979-1980) which at that time was a soft AC/oldies station, and WCVC-AM 1330(1983-1988 and 1996-2004), a Christian station. I have also done some freelance writing and worked in media relations at Florida State University (1984-1987). Currently, am another "On the beach" radio veteran with not too much hope of landing another radio gig. To keep active, I now own and operate WJJD Country Giant radio on Live365.com. I have always loved country music, one format I actually never worked at a commercial station. WJJD broadcasts a mix of positive current and classic country music and some light contemporary Christian music, with our brand new "Radio for Faith, Family and Country" format.     Spring is here and so are the butterflies! This week I have a gallery of a particular group of butterflies called Brushfoots. Brushfoots are the most commonly known and encountered of the large colorful butterflies (excluding the swallowtails) found in Florida and the Americas. These include the monarchs, fritillaries, buckeyes, and the viceroy below (who has nearly identical markings as the toxic monarch butterfly) to keep it from being eaten by birds.... cool trick, huh? :-)
