About me:
Radio Days is a sixteen-piece big band based in Kennington, Oxfordshire and directed by saxophonist Mr Joe Carey. Radio Days is well known in the Oxford area for playing popular swing and dance music from the 1930s through to the 1960s. Included in the band's repertoire are many standards from the "Golden Age of Swing". The Band's arrangements have been collected from archives, private collections, local arrangers and also from the famous White Star Line whose orchestras entertained passengers as they crossed the Atlantic during the 1920s and 30s. The Radio Days extensive library reflects the work of the famous bands, orchestras and vocalists with names such as Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and the great Frank Sinatra all being represented. You will undoubtedly have heard of many of the titles in the Radio Days repertoire; 'In The Mood', 'Sunny Side of The Street', 'Jeepers Creepers', 'I've Got You Under My Skin' to name but a few. Whether you are a devotee of the Big Band sound, enjoy jiving to the irresistable sounds of 1940s Swing or simply want to have fun, Radio Days will help to make your function a success.
