OK I'm a country boy turned bad or good depends which way I guess you look at it. I guess I should just mention my musical achievements to date. I think my first gig was at a school concert around 16 playing bass. I then went on too other rock bands and my favorite at the time was the TEXAS DANCEFLOOR MASSACRE. At 20 I opened a club underneath the Normanby hotel in Brisbane called REPUBLICA. That continued and took many forms over the next three years. During that time I also played at the Brittiania inn, Ric's, Louie's, pink palace, the winery, uni's and local music festivals and helped with promotions and general shit kicking for Advent*jah, whereby I supported James Lavelle and several others. In my 21st year I co-wrote an album with Andy Mackenzie under the guise POINT & CLICK SYMPHONY - Harmonic bong. It got radio air play and the cd release was JJJ's gig of the week. During this time I also taught under privileged kids to DJ and write music. This lead onto probably my most proudest achievement whereby I produced an acoustic CD which went on to sell over 1000 units and played for the deposit of a women's shelter (thanks Steve). Additionally in further collaborations we created REV.MEAT and did the soundtrack to a short film that was a finalist for the Courier Mail short film festival in 2001.
In 2002 I moved to London where I played at BLAG club (nottinghill), LIVING ROOM (Brixton) and house parties all over the country. Additionally I suddenly found myself entrenched in the breakbeat scene and worked along side labels such as CUT & RUN, RAT RECORDS and KNOWWHERE RECORDS.
In 2005 I moved to Melbourne and since moving here have played at Loop, Laundry, Horse Bazaar, Carlton Club, FAD gallery, Dark Days gallery, MORE BASS, Eurotrash, ESCOBAR, Lucky coq, Pheonix bar, F4 and done sound for warehouse parties and a radio show on Northwest FM and am in an up and coming movie about the Melbourne music scene.
I originated and co-run Fromage which is a monthly party at LOOP and host a night at Troika called LISTENGINGSTATION, which has run over 18 months and is for up and coming dj's. I am currently slowly working on a new album.
My alias's have been bashmorebrother, alvin zephlar, djt1, dr disconyx, point&click symphony, deathclash boys and reverent meat. I also wrote for BEAT under the guise of Alvin son of Melvin.
2007 saw me take on the guise of Dr Disconyx and was the creator and head honcho of FROMAGE DISCO which is Melbourne's first night dedicated to Nu-Disco and all things disco. Fromage disco has ran for over 14 months at LOOP and has been relocated to F4. 2007 also saw the conception of DISCOURSE which, again I have been one of the founding members and residents. However discourse mainly specialises in Tech-sounds. Over the past months I have played at Pheonix bar and Lucky coq and played many Melbourne warehouse parties.
2008 will bring a new night called 'party sword' and one off nights called 'Bad Eggs' as well as some new tracks in the pipeline and much much more.
my latest 12" vinyl is out now. Digital release to be expected in september. To get a promo please send me a short message here on myspace.
