Yes, that "headline" is inspired by one of the Third Coast Festival's favorite films of all time, Ratatouille. ("Everyone can cook.")
Radio Ephemera is the Third Coast Festival's 2008 Audio Challenge. It's a collaboration with the very excellent Prelinger Library, in San Francisco. Basically we're asking everyone/anyone/YOU to make a short audio story (up to 3 minutes) inspired by TWO of five specific books from the Prelinger Library, and including the voice of a stranger. Then send your story to the TCF (thirdcoastfestival@gmail.com / mp3s please) and it'll be added to our ever-growing archive of Radio Ephemera:

You can see images of the book covers, and browse through complete digital versions of the books here:

What's in it for you? Besides taking part in Radio History (!)...we'll choose four submissions to celebrate as the 2008 TCF ShortDocs. Those producers will be invited to Chicago (all expenses paid) to present their work in the opening session of this year's annual Conference, in October. Plus, we'll play other standouts on our weekly show on WBEZ, Re:sound, and at public listening events around the country. Still not convinced? Send us an email (info@thirdcoastfestival.org) and we'll further make the case.
