Gobstopper's Blurbs

About me:
This is a radio programme. It gets broadcast on the radio. On BBC Tees, based in Middlesbrough. That's on 95FM. Oh, and DAB Digital Radio. And online at bbc.co.uk/tees. It's hosted by Bob Fischer who likes stupid punk rock and old rock'n'roll songs and sweats a lot.

The show features lots of guests, lots of live bands, and a fair bit of rambling on, which can be anything from talking about how much spiders dislike conkers to how the new standard unit of measurement should be insects.

Bob is usually helped out by football's Miniature G or pasty faced dandy boy Shack. Charming and daft in equal measure, these boys will talk about anything, but mostly it's biscuits, sitting down and holding hands with girls in big jumpers on autumn afternoons while kicking leaves and skimming stones across a still and peaceful lake.

Who I'd like to meet:
We'd like to hear from lots of local bands and artists and people who do nice, interesting things with their lives. You could put a CD in an envelope and write "Bob Fischer, BBC Tees, PO Box 95FM, Middlesbrough TS1 5DG" on the front. And then put it in a post box. Or you could just send us a message through Myspace, which sometimes takes slightly longer.

Bazza	Nov 3 2008 12:22 AM Psychotic Reaction is the name of a new quarterly garage/punk club night that is held upstairs at The Clarendon, Tower Street, Hartlepool, TS24 7HH. The opening night takes place this Saturday (8th November) and features 2 live bands - The Rawmones & Thee Strawberry Mynde. I'll also be doing a spot behind the decks spinning the best in garage/psych/punk. Doors open 8.00pm till late and admission is £4 on the door. In this short time they have managed to grace all of Teesside’s biggest venues, with people being blown away by them at every one. ‘They have a wired sound beyond their youth, chaotic perhaps, but fine-tuned chaos’. ‘Forget Tony Christie and The Twang, 2007's Middlesbrough Music Live was all about one band - Grandma's House’. Princes of Monte Carlo A rock, blues, classic rock four-piece band hailing from Teesside, they too have quite a reputation in our town. In their own words, they say they are ‘a truly modern spin on a great classic feel’.
