The first womyn's march in Los Angeles since 1994.
On Saturday, March 8th, womyn in L.A. are taking a stand together as one, to show our strength and support for one another as sisters, mothers, friends, partners, cousins, granddaughters...
Chapinas Unidas: Tea and Banner Making Party
On Wednesday Evening, March 5th, Chapinas Unidas is hosting a tea and banner making evening to prepare and represent our presence at the March 8th Womyn's March.
We will be creating a dress/es representing Guatemala for the programming of the march that will highlight 12 war torn countries around the world. It is a special part of the march, since it takes time to present, and learn the struggles that we share with our sisters around the world. We are emphasizing the struggle against femicide and impunity that plagues Guatemalan Womyn from finding peace and justice.
Bring (markers, crayons, posters, paint, spray paint, fabric, construction paper, tea, etc) ideas, creativity, and energy. This is not limited to Chapinas, it's an invitation to womyn from Central America, Mexico, South America and beyond. Come through and represent!
