Having opened its doors in 2006, RADIO K, based in McHugh's Basement Bar in Belfast's regenerated Cathedral Quarter area, has firmly established itself as one of the best alternative nights in the the city.
Resident DJs Joe Dougan, Martin J Corrigan (ALLOY MENTAL) and Joe Greene (OLYMPIC LIFTS) have been packing out the venue weekly for almost 4 years, mixing Indie Rock, Soul, Hip Hop, Techno, Garage Rock… anything from Sonic Youth to Sly and the Family Stone.
Guest appearances from the likes of DAVID HOLMES, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM and OPTIMO at the club, a residency in THE STIFF KITTEN, and an invite to DJ at clubs like SHINE and THE SUB CLUB (Glasgow) serve to indicate the growing reputation of the event. Add visuals, crazy lights, a heap of friendly regulars, and a genuinely intimate venue.
