Radio Phoenix is a non-commercial, volunteer-driven community radio station based in Phoenix, Arizona. We are just starting up, and looking for both volunteers and financial support. We are currently broadcasting 24/7 online. We are working to secure a public FM radio license from the FCC that can cover significant portions of metro Phoenix; email Kaja Brown, Radio Phoenix General Manager at kaja@radiophoenix.org for more information on how you can help!
Radio Phoenix will provide a mix of programming that includes music (80%), news & public affairs (18%), and special events/experimental shows (2%). Our music programming will be focused on indie rock, urban, and world as well as local artists and specialty genres. Oh yeah... and anyone can be a DJ! We are currently looking for innovative show ideas and general rotation DJs. Let us know what your great ideas are. We are especially interested in people that have prior radio experience. Dependable, hardworking, passionate about music, plays well with others, doesn't run with scissors, sometimes runs with the figurative scissors... we are looking for those types too.
How you can help:
Radio Phoenix is currently looking for:
-CDs put out by local artists for our music library. Radio friendly versions and press packages are preferred
-Help with promotion, fundraising & marketing
-Help with production
-Help with music programmng
-Financial support
-In kind donations like microphones, mixing boards, mic stands, headphones, cds for our library, tables, chairs, mops... Really we need everything
-Information on upcoming shows: local & national touring gigs
Please, Please, Please, if you are interested in getting involved or contributing in any way, contact Katie Resendiz, Radio Phoenix Volunteer Director, volunteer@radiophoenix.org for more info on how to get involved.
If you want to submit local, music please email Nick Gortari, Radio Phoenix Local Music Director at nick@radiophoenix.org for details. Or just send your CD and perhaps press package to the mailing address (PO Box) listed below. Make sure to mark "Attn: Local Music Director" otherwise it might end up in the abyss!
Even if you decide you don't really want anything to do with us, add us as your friend... That may not make sense, but before this story is over, I'm sure you will realize we have become a true friend indeed.
Keep checking back here for updates! We will also be adding more local events to our calendar as we find them.
Thanks to Stateside Presents, Radio Phoenix has an exclusive interview with Fujiya & Miyagi that will air at 2p and 6p M-F for the next two weeks. Find out about the bands influences, soccer interests, how they communicate with their girlfriends and revealing the festivals they are playing in Europed (an Exclusive scoop on a sold out fest!)

Shout Out:
Radio Phoenix is a part of the Arizona Community Media Foundation (AzCMF) and exists to unite the artistic, business and civic communities of central Arizona through the power of media. We work to accomplish this goal by providing public access to media literacy training, studio production equipment, and integrated media platforms for the promotion of diverse cultures, music and viewpoints under-represented by local media.
