So far all of RTA's recorded music has been produced by Chris Ploss, whom the members of Radio the Ape proudly recognize as a musical genius. He does as much work as anyone else in the band (and more so in the case of Trevor and Matt.)

Founded in 2005, Radio the Ape consisted, at one point, of Trevor Scheer and Matt Ploss in Trevor's room, with Matt rockin' out on simple piano cords and Trevor pounding the crap out of his faithful drumset. Soon after that, Art Sullivan, their quiet childhood friend, started taking guitar lessons from Matt's mom. Once she had taught him all she could (which took surprisingly little time) Art blasted onwards, self-teaching himself through various complicated songs (Under the Bridge, Do you remember, etc.) Quickly realizing the talent that this fledgling young guitarist possessed, Trevor and Matt took Art under their wing. Since then, the band has become well, a band. They continued writing songs and even played a few shows until August of 2007, when Matt left for Tokyo, Japan for a year. Although this was admittedly inconvenient, it didn't discourage the members of RTA. Art, Matt, and Trevor not only wrote a wealth of new songs via the world wide web, but in February Art and Trevor visited Matt in Japan, resulting in endless photo-ops and a sea of memories. Upon Matt's return to Trumansburg in June of 2008, Radio the Ape has been gloriously reunited, and continues to write, record, perform, and play Xbox 360 to this day. These three childhood friends have had a good time writing original songs and hope to have many more years of doing so ahead of them.
