    It's Like World War Three... ..Radioactive Prostitute formed as a concept during the 1996 Dirigo Boys' State when a small donation was made to the U.S. Special Olympics under that name. .. Radioactive Prostitute formed as a band in August of 2002 when Slippy and Brt, two friends from Maine and Massachusetts were called upon to fill an opening slot for Pine Tree State Mind Control at the Flywheel in Easthampton, MA. Only given a week's notice before the show, and with no songs or even any musical experience together, the two took to the stage with MIT noise master GKL and proceeded to scare off half of the audience who thought they were there to see minimalist drone by turning the amps all the way up, rolling around on the floor, and banging on trash cans. Moments after the conclusion of the show, they were booked by shocked audience members for other gigs later on that year including a performance at the Transcendental Music & Film Festival in Waterbury, CT and a live radio performance on WMFO in Medford, MA... .. 2003 through 2006 were growing years for the band both in terms of songwriting and exposure. A slew of ridiculous yet catchy songs were written to add melody into the live acts. Smashing CD's & records on stage and projecting video footage of questionable content were commonplace at shows. The performances varied from being acoustic, to electric, to no instruments at all. Many third-and-fourth members of the band came and went including drummer Kirk Morrison who sadly but expectedly passed away in April of 2006. Notable highlights from those years include getting kicked out of a show for being 'too offensive' by a club owner who minutes beforehand recited poetry about stepping on babies' eyeballs until they popped; performing at GG Allin's grave on the 10th anniversary of his death; recording some songs in Buffalo, NY; appearing on the soundtrack of The Doctor (Eskimo Films), as well as in the actual movie and doing a northeast tour to promote the film... .. In May of 2008, GKL joined the band again and they went into the Bank Row Studios with a drummer to record with Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, etc). A 10-song album from that session was self-released as "Capital Eyes" on their own Radiopros record label in the summer of 2008. Also, a limited edition 12" record of noise featuring selections from a 2002 performance, as well as a longer noise performance recorded at Bank Row was released as King Maris Day in April of 2009... .. Since that first show in 2002, the band has averaged about a show a month.
