Singer and composer Rafa Peletey started playing guitar and studying classical music at the age of 7. He has been with many bands, all of greatly varying styles, as bass player,guitarist,keyboardist and singer.
He has shared the stage with artists such as Al Jarreau, Lou Reed, The Christians and Eric Burdon to name but a few.
He is also an ambient and deep house artist and has been featured on dozens of compilations producing,arranging and composing for other artists. All of this experience led him to the world of production which he has been doing since the early nineties.
He is the proud grand son of the music conductor Jesus Etcheverry, who has recorded nearly seventy albums of the classical lyrical repertoire.
For several years Rafa was teamed up with Steve Norman, founder member of Spandau Ballet, composing and producing. He has collaborated with the DJ pioneer Alfredo, godfather of the Balearic movement and one of the creators of house music, and has also worked with French drum 'n' bass pioneer Guillaume Garrone,aka Eye n ear.
He recently collaborated with producer Ingmar Hansch aka Ingmario for Movin Sounds (www.movinsounds.com), providing the vocal parts on three tracks of the second album of REAL XS and four tracks on the new DJ SUSO album, which has been released during the Summer of '07 on the compilation “La maison de l’elephant”.
He has also collaborated with DJ ANGEL CIELO, providing vocals and guitars for a chill out version of Peter Gabriel’s “In your eyes”. This version has been released on the classy compilation “El Ayoun” and on the chill-out compilation of Amnesia Ibiza during the Summer of ’07.
Currently Rafa Peletey is working on his own solo album while doing concerts with his acoustic ensemble playing with the likes of Cuban guitarist Norberto Rodriguez (Juan Perro) and pianist / producer Rafa Garces.
Cantante y compositor, Rafa Peletey empezó a tocar la guitarra a los 7 años, y más tarde estudiaria música clásica. Ha formado parte de numerosos grupos de muy distintos estilos, como cantante, bajista, guitarrista o teclista.
Ha compartido escenario con artistas como Al Jarreau, Lou Reed, The Christians o Eric Burdon, entre otros.
Es también un compositor y productor de música ambient y deep house cuyo trabajo ha sido publicado en docenas de compilaciones y ha realizado arreglos y composiciones para diversos artistas. Todo ello le ha llevado de forma natural hacia la producción, labor que viene desempeñando desde principio de los 90.
Durante varios años, ha formado equipo con Steve Norman, miembro fundador del grupo Spandau Ballet, realizando con él diversas producciones y composiciones. También ha colaborado con el pionero DJ Alfredo, iniciador del "Balearic movement" y uno de los creadores de la "House music", o con el francés Guillaume Garrone alias Eye'n'Ear, pionero del drum'n'bass.
Actualmente está trabajando en su propio album en solitario mientras dá conciertos con su formación acústica, colaborando con músicos como el guitarrista cubano Norberto Rodriguez (Juan Perro) o el saxofonista también cubano Roque Martinez (Jerry Gonzalez).
Ha recientemente colaborado con el productor Ingmar Hansch, alias Ingmarlo, para Movin' Sounds (www.movinsounds.com), aportando las partes vocales de tres temas del segundo álbum de REAL XS y cuatro temas para el nuevo álbum de DJ Suso (Space Ibiza) que será parcialmente incluido este verano en la compilación "La maison de l'Elephant".
También ha colaborado recientemente con DJ Angel Cielo, grabando la voz y guitarras para una versión chill out de la canción "In your eyes", de Peter Gabriel. Esta versión será publicada durante el verano 2007 en la muy elegante compilación "El Ayoun" y en la compilación chill-out de Amnesia Ibiza.
En unos días abriremos el plazo de convocatoria para el concurso internacional de vídeoclips Musiclip. Animad a todos los grupos y realizadores a participar en el festival de videoclips Musiclip.
