The Ragamuffins are an indie pop group based in the North West renowned for their emphasis on infectious grooves, lush harmonies and catchy melodies. Their frenetic electro pop style takes in elements of Northern Soul, 80's synth pop and the music of "The British Invasion" of the 1960's and is wrapped up in a witty, uplifting lyricism to create something totally unique.
The Ragamuffins have gigged tirelessly at home and abroad, including at the Snowbombing Festival in Austria, playing mainstage at The Beatherder Festival alongside Reverend & The Makers and The Whip, headlining Liverpool's o2 Academy 2, opening the 6 month long "Made in Europe" Festival in Italy and wowing at Alan Mcgee's Death Disco in London.
The Ragamuffins have recorded a live video for MUTV which gets aired on the Sky TV channel, and have been played numerous times at Anfield Football Stadium. Furthermore the song 'Royally Flushed' provides the backing track for showreel of North West media (showcased at events such as the Labour Party Conference). The Ragamuffins are featured as a BBC Introducing band, and recently appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire on 'An intimate afternoon with The Ragamuffins' (in the past they have played live on BBC Radio Merseyside, Salford City Radio and other smaller local stations too)
"exactly what British indie pop needs right now; charm, originality, but most of all, damn fine song writing"– Preston University Press
"so passionate - The end result is beautiful songs that will not allow you to keep your feet still. We dare you not to dance!"– Northern Empire Promotions, Liverpool
“I'm not often impressed to the same margin I was when I heard The Ragamuffins via BBC Introducing. They are definitely a band for me, and their "kitchen-sink-drama jangly indie-pop songs" are really appealing. Together with their addiction to cups of tea, their music is close to my heart. It's similar enough to fit into the generically popular 'indie' category that's overwhelmed nowadays, but reasurringly different"- “Asp Bites” Online Review
“Throwing us a lifebelt filled with happy hummable songs, this band are what this once great country needs; a reason to get out of bed and dance. So set sail for the future because it will certainly be bright if The Ragamuffins have anything to do with it. 4/5”- Bluesbunny Independent Music Reviews on “El Bandito”
“There are times when you wonder if melody has been forgotten in popular music but not tonight. A musician said to me recently that it was really hard to write a happy song. Well, The Ragamuffins have them by the barrow load”- Bluesbunny Independent Music Reviews Live Review

This Monday 16th November at the Acoustic Live Lounge we have 2 fantastic acts performing: THE GOOD INTENTIONS & THE RACHEL JAMES BAND
The Good Intentions are from Liverpool and this year they won the Maverick Magazine 2009 Song of The Year award and are an act not to be missed!
The Rachel James Band are from Bolton and we are very much looking forward to having them at the Acoustic Live Lounge performing live.
If those two acts weren't enough there's also plenty of open mic spots if you fancy coming down and giving us a song on the open mic.
For those of you who were at last weeks Acoustic Live Lounge, you'll agree it was a fantastic night of live music! For those who weren't there, here's a video from the night, which featured Karen Cleary and The Lees
If you're on Youtube, why not add the Acoustic Live Lounge Youtube channel as a friend and subscribe to get all the latest live footage from the Acoustic Live Lounge http://www.youtube.com/user/AcousticLiveLounge
Hopefully see you on Monday Barry ACOUSTIC LIVE LOUNGE

Hi David. Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the city. If you ever do the trip again, drop us a line. Nice tunes by the way! We'd love to play some Ragamuffins in the show soon. Cheers! Alex.
Hey Guy..That was fun, you sounded great, love the vocals and trumpet. It was all good. Hope to catch you soon, let us know if you fancy doing anything together. Cool
hi guys.. well havent passed by for a while.. and thought i should say hi.. as its been a while.. Well we did it.. we fought to the end!! went out on a fab high with funkyDory from london.. and just like EVERY band thats been and gone.. EVERYONE fantastic, yourselves absolutely included.. AMAZING season, and it is with thanks to ALL of the bands who came over to push and support the LIVE music.. and kind of culture shock the theatre!!! Well on a good note.. we increased every show, on a down side, we are still not 'full'... but we're almost there... so, we're going again next year.. give another shot, and continue, what now, has become very very personal to both the music in general, and if every band has such high morales as everyone we have seen, then that is worth everything.. it has been refreshing, enjoyable, amazing and a real head turner to know there really is 'genuine' people left in this world, doing things from the heart, supporting each other, and WOW how good that feels, to know there is LOVE & MUSIC!!! THANKYOU ALL SO SO SO SO MUCH.. and long may Everyone continue, with success, happiness and continued support... gosh.. listen to me.. looks like one of my 'famous' emails!! and i'll end with a plug for the new one if I may!!! www.vivaossola.org !!! THANKYOU again and again..couldnt have done it without you... and please keep in touch..xxxx Abbey and the gang!! xxxx

The Ragamuffins have been played on the It's A Frog's Life Acoustic Podcast Show 77 - Slumfrog Squillionaire - which is dedicated to Danny Boyle and the team behind the 8-times Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. There's an appropriate opening track called Oh, India from Lorelei Loveridge, four songs from local Liverpool artists, a Then and Now feature from Terry Emm, and an artist passed to me by a fellow member of AMP - the Association of Music Podcasting. ..
