Brooklyn Seven was founded by Ishmael Ali in 2005. The name comes from a love of Brooklyn and how much it has shaped our worldview.
We create music to:
1. Express ourselves
2. Present alterNative views to mainstream ways of thinking
3. Make people consider answers to such questions as "what does tribal sovereignty mean in the 21st century, and how to resolve conflicts between tribes and the federal and the state governments?"
4. Combat payola garbage on the radio.
We are not conformists. We are not pawns. We make the music we freaking want to make. We are Brooklyn.

Aw man. Now that's a bummer. It was for a free show at Berkeley last night featuring In Lak Ech, El Vuh, Tolteca and a bunch of other groups. It was called "Indigenous Peoples Night of Resistance."
Very cool. NM was fun. Lots of familiar faces and fun. I even got to hang out with Bronson for a few hours.
Going to see Immortal Technique tonight. The crew of friends and fam going to the show is growing too. You have NO idea how hyped I am about this one.
