RainaRai, a pioneer group from Side Bel Abbes, have a sound based especially on the guitar of Lofti Attar. RainaRai were brought up on blues, rock and reggae. Inspired by songs from the 1930's and 1940's, they started experimenting by substituting the gasba it means reed flutewith in english . electric guitar and sax, and the small guellal with a larger booming tabla drum kit . RainaRai have updated the dusty melodies which had been waiting to re-emerge . Their songs have dance rhythms and lyrics by which they scream of their lives . One of their songs "Zina" (pretty girl) was a big enough hit to warrant its use on the sountrack of "Tchao Pantin".

Je pense que Raina rai est une référence musicale. un très grand groupe qui sans aucun doute fait parti des piliers de l'histoire de la musique algérienne. et hélas pas assez mis en avant. pourtant ce groupe a inspiré beaucoup de musiciens ! c'est incontestable.
