The lives of adult, creative, people who aren't like me.
History, but not if I have to remember the dates!
I like trying (and even cooking) "new" kinds of food.

Music
My musical tastes are pretty eclectic...or so I'm told.
I love Willie Nelson and the other "Outlaws"..Jerry Jeff Walker...Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Dan May (he's on my Friends list), Johhny Mathis, Nat King Cole, Bob Dylan....
I like Gospel...
I like Folk....
I love the Motown Sound..and Chess Records type R&B
I don't care for Jazz for the most part, tho I like some of the more melodious "kinds"
I am not too sure about "metal", I know I don't like "Death Metal"...I just don't get Grunge, don't know what Emo is.
I HATE Rap/Hip-Hop. I really do. NO, I will not reconsider that. If you are into rap/perform rap please do NOT send me a "friend request"!! To do so shows you have NO respect for others.

Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!
Willie Nelson, Dollie Parton, Dr. ML King Jr., The Rev,Troy Perry, the late Johnny Cash, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Johnny Cash (who lives in many hearts), the Dixie Chicks, both of my Granmothers (who are now in heaven), the teenagers at my church.
The men and women in the US Armed Forces
My name is pronounced Knee-new-ray, and it supposedly means "she who is kind"
I am Black, that is to say, I am an African-American. And if ya wanted to get technical, there's some Native-American and European folks in my lineage.
I am Christian by choice...and I am an ordained minister (retired)....but not ordained by either of the two denominations I currently belong to. (The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches and the United Church of Christ)
I am an unabashed, unashamed liberal who loves her country.
My "cause" in life is to increase understanding, promote peace, to defend Human Rights and to try and demonstrate what it means to be a follower of Jesus called the Christ.
I like to think I am still a "kid" at heart. I still love cartoons, I still want to learn new things. I like beanie-babies. I sleep with a stuffed cat.
A favortite Quote:
"Beautiful is the moment in which we understand that we are no more than an instrument of God; we live only as long as God wants us to live; we can do only as much as God makes us able to; we are only as intelligent as God would have us be."
- Archbishop Oscar Romero, from his last homily, March 23, 1980
Peace Candle
BTW: My "Top Friends List" changes fairly often. The first three "persons" on it are there because I really do consider them friends even if we haven't all met "face-to-face". There are also some the folks who seem like "family" from Illegible Records who make a good portion of the remainder, and the rest are just neat people who I hope you'll check out.
Which Tarot Card Are You?
You are the Justice card. Justice preserves the harmony of the world. Working with opposite forces, Justice does not seek to criticize or condemn but rather to accept. The idea behind the card justice is that opposite forces are complementary; you could not have good without evil or light without darkness. Justice's position is to make sure that if a thing is out of balance, the weight of its energy is realigned with its opposite force. This card is also a card of humour, for it is in pointing out contrary positions that humour is often found. The attitude that is found in the humourous person, being able to shift perspective and flow with an instinct, is important in the maintenance of good balance. Well there's lots of INDIVIDUALS I'd like to meet, but I have a feeling that I am supposed to say who I want to meet on MySpace.....having been here a bit I still don't know how to put it that into words.. :=)
I think I do better describing who I DO NOT want to meet!
I do NOT want to meet anyone who can't be bothered to READ this profile.
Anyone who does not understand that I simply do NOT like Rap/Hip Hop and decides to send Friend requests anyway..
I do NOT want to meet anyone with a profile set to "private". I don't understand why someone would not want me to know who they are, yet expect me to accept a "friend request".
I do NOT want to "meet" anyone who is under 18...I doubt we'd have anything in common, and it just seems to be asking for trouble these days.
I do NOT want to meet people who "want to party"...it usually turns out that my idea of a party and "their" idea of a party have nothing to do with each other.
I DON"T want to meet people who don't understand what "I am a Christian" means, and/or tell me I look like someone who knows how to "have fun"...
i do NOT want to meet people who want to "hook up"....
I don't want to meet people who want to "teach me how to make money from from home", offer me "investment opportunities", tell me how to improve my "love life"....or who want to sell me some product or another.
I DO NOT want to meet anyone who judges anyone on their race, gender, age, weight, county of origin, class, or sexual orinetation and feels the need to broadcast that to ME.
I accept that one has a "right" to be a bigot, but I have a right NOT to hear their "bovine droppings"...
And finally. if you reject a comment from me with no explanation, I may remove you from my "Friends"....I am trying to take this "Friends" thing seriously...not collect names.
Which Tarot Card Are You?
You are the Tower card. The Tower represents a sudden, drastic change. This change can be incredibly freeing. It can be a change in the way you think, or a change in environment. The physical body may be healed of a long illness in a seemingly miraculous way. Dramatic change may lead you into a completely different career or lifestyle. On the negative side of things, you may suddenly lose your fortune or have an experience that shatters your sense of identity. The Tower that crumbles under the lightning bolt is the physical and may be indicative of some aspect of your physical world. But as the Tower crumbles it reveals a sturdier foundation, something which perhaps you did not expect but which, nevertheless, arrives fully formed and strong into your life. “The expression of love, grace an elegance A movement of intimacy, empowerment, romance Riding the crest of an ocean wave Gliding through the air on a breezy day My body on Earth my soul reaches away To Heaven. The religion of rhythm A moth to a candle A key to a slave of Pleasure and pain I take my first emancipated steps Freedom This is my chance. That’s where I go When I Dance.”

Dear God: The lady reading this is beautiful, classy and strong and I love her friendship. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most and let her know when she walks with you, she will always be safe.
Love you Girl!!!! Now you're on the clock.
In 9 minutes something will make you happy. But you have to tell 9 sisters you love them including me......... Go
Thanks Ninure for encouraging us to "mingle" among our now mutual friends. I like your ground rules of who you do not want to meet - especially about your right to not be treated to the "bovine droppings" of bigotry. We would appreciate any help in connecting us with someone who's pregnant and does not wish to parent.
Ninure de Hippie, That turkey doesn't want to be caught! Thanks for stopping by our site and checking out our music. Below is a
picture of another one of my cats, Miss Kitty, who is climbing all over
me as I write this. Miss Kitty is a feral cat that my daughter, Jane,
found under a big dumpster and brought home.....like she did with all
four of our cats. You can see Miss Kitty standing on my Fender Hot Rod
Deville amplifier and next to my Fender Telecaster guitar. Have a
lovely weekend.
