We find our activities falling into three general categories:
Educate – to provide information to all individuals and groups about the LGBTIQA community in an effort to eliminate harmful stereotypes. See our Education page for more information.
Advocate – to ensure that LGBTIQA individuals receive the same basic human rights as all other citizens of Pierce County, the State of Washington and the United States
Celebrate – to acknowledge pride in who we are as valuable, creative members of a diverse population in this county, state and country
Our board of directors is made of long-time Tacoma activists and community members from all walks of life. They include:
Co-Chair: S. Troy Christensen has been with the board since 2003. He is Executive Director of The Geneva Foundation and holds Master's Degrees in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, and Health Administration. Troy is involved in many social justice issues including ending homelessness, and equal rights for all minority classes.
Co-Chair/Treasurer: Patricia (Pat) McIntyre, joined the board in the summer of 2006 and immediately was volunteered for the 2006 Black and White Gayla planning committee. A Washington State native and a resident of Pierce County since 1972, Pat served in the US Army at both the Pentagon and Ft.Lewis. She received her BA in Social Welfare from Pacific Lutheran University; she also holds a degree in business management and is a long
time Human Resource professional and Boeing employee working in the field of disability management. Pat currently serves on the Boeing Diversity Council as well as the Executive Board of the Boeing Puget Sound Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual and Transgender ( LGBT) employee resource group, the BEAGLES, which celebrates diversity and mission is to promote employee resources and mentoring in the workplace. Pat is the former steering committee chair and
current member of the Pride Foundation (Pierce County), she is a dedicated supportee of Pierce County Pride and an advocate for Tacoma's queers. In addition to LGBT activities, she supports the Alzheimer's Foundation in
honor of her mother, Virginia McIntyre as well as individuals and their families who are facing or have succumbed to this horrific disease.

Robin is a fantastic conversationalist and former Brown & Haley snackager--er packager who has just recieved her Masters of Business Management. She is also serving as Treasurer of Out in Tacoma.
