I have a pretty varied array of interests, running from sports (baseball...Let's Go Mets! and basketball...long suffering NY Knicks fan), reading, music (classic rock, very little modern music), but most of all web design. I have been designing websites professionally for about 10 years, and am constantly teaching myself new effects and techniques. It's an obsession! My work can be viewed at www.rainbowebdesign.com, and then you can check out the clients page to see some of my sites. They are constantly being updated and changed, as new sites are completed.
Music
I believe that over the past 15 years there has been very little music that will stand the test of time. Since I was coming of age when the British Invasion first took place, I am very partial to many of the bands who first came upon the scene in the early 60's, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Beatles, Who, but there have been a few more modern bands that have caught my attention...Smithereens, Roxy Music, Gin Blossoms, Wallflowers, Aerosmith, Dire Straits to name a few, and some of the best music I ever heard was from a band that should have made it big back in the early 70's, but sadly didn't, called T. Roth and Another Pretty Face.
Movies
My favorite movie of all time is Blood Simple, which is probably so obscure that most of you won't ever have heard of it. Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen (Fargo, Raising Arizona). My favorite comedy is Uncle Buck (every time I see the scene in the principal's office I laugh so hard I cry), and it seems like I like very dark movies in general. Red Eye was another one I liked a lot, and I love a lot of horror movies also. A real good old one is Wolfen, which is about 25 years old, and well worth watching if you are unfamiliar with it.
Television
I have one, and I watch movies and sports on it, but other than that, I can't remember a "regular show" I have watched in years. I might flip through the channels on occasion, and might even see something that catches my attention, but I don't watch any shows as part of a routine. I never even watched Seinfeld or Friends in their regular time spots, only learning how great those shows were after they were on in syndication.
One show I did watch semi-regularly over the past year is Criss Angel:Mindfreak. If you've never seen it, you are missing some amazing stuff. He puts David Blaine to shame!
Growing up, I did watch TV, and my favorite shows from that era are Car 54, Where Are You, Twilight Zone, Thriller, Mr. Ed, and Outer Limits. A pretty diverse group, no?
Books
Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Nelson DeMille, Jonathan Kellerman, Tami Hoag, and John Sandford are all writers of current fiction that I enjoy. Especially Dean Koontz, who has an ability to sneak something so bizarre into a normal sentence, and then you go "Huh?" when it registers a few pages later. If you haven't read Lightning, you are missing an amazing journey, with so many twists and turns your head will spin.
Having majored in English in college (a really silly choice) I did read a lot of literature and more critically respected stuff, and my absolute favorite book from that time is Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov. Written sort of like a journal, with clues throughout that lead you to the conclusion that the writer of that journal is absolutely insane! Very interesting style, can't imagine how he was able to stay in that voice and pull it off!

I have a great wife (who is my best friend in the entire world), 4 great kids, and 4 amazing dogs, Shelby, a chihuahua, who is the world's coolest dog! She even talks! (Saying yes and no, when asked questions that require yes or no answers. No I'm not nuts, this is not a joke, if you think I'm kidding, visit Wolf Tales and see if she agrees or disagrees), Nemo, an American Eskimo who looks like a white wolf, and although he looks sweet and innocent, is really plotting his next bit of mischief at all times, Blaze, a Golden Retriever, who is just about as sweet as any living creature can be (If you had nothing else to do, he would just let you pet him 24 hours a day, and he would be as content as he could be. What a sweet dog!), and Misha, a Sheltie who was named right here on MySpace after we held a naming contest.
In general, I find that I like dogs more than people, but I do make exceptions! Dogs just love you, and all they ask in return is for you to love them back. Not many people operate on that level, which is too bad.
Back in the late 70's and early 80's, my wife and I were big CBers, and it seems to me that IMing and chat rooms were the natural evolution of CB, and this is the natural progression of IMing and chat rooms. The ability to communicate with and locate old friends all over the world seems to me to be the most useful feature that the internet provides. Yeah, there's a lot of other uses, and e-commerce is great, since you can shop anytime, but for me, the ability to find old lost friends is just the greatest thing. I've found a couple of friends from 25-30 years ago through the internet, and I have no doubt that I would never have reconnected any other way.
Anyone who can have an intelligent discussion, without making judgments. We all have our own opinions, and there is very little in life that is harder than to change someone's opinion when they are convinced they are right. Why can't we all just agree to disagree!
