Is your partner jealous? Controlling? Threaten to 'out' you? Hit, slap, or push you? Insult you?
Don't think it could happen to you?

unhealthy relationships happen (to LGBTQ folks, too)

Please join Queens Pride House for the July installment of the stay ALERT series with special guests from the Domestic Violence Project at the Urban Justice Center presenting:

"Domestic Violence in LGBTQ Relationships"

Thursday, July 12 @ 7pm

Representatives from the Domestic Violence Project at the Urban Justice Center will lead an interactive workshop about how & why unhealthy relationships develop, warning signs, prevention tips, and LGBT-specific resources that exist to help us. The workshop will be in English and Spanish and is co-sponsored by the Humanist Center. Please RSVP to Lyndsey at 718-429-5309 or Lbeutin@queenspridehouse.org

The Domestic Violence Project of the Urban Justice Center is the 6th presenter in the new series at QPH called "stay ALERT!" which focuses on radical queer organizing and the intersections of oppressions. stay ALERT! stands for Activism, Leadership, and Education for a Radical Takeover. Magdalena is 14 and anxiously awaiting her 15th birthday where she'll celebrate her quinceañera. Her world starts to crumble when she discovers her pregnancy after not being able to fit in her gown for her quinceañera. Soon, she's kicked out of her home, abandoned by her family, and abandoned by her baby's father. Magdalena is then taken in by her great-granduncle, Tomas and her gay often-in-trouble cousin, Carlos. There she finds a new family and life.
