I painted the Verdun War Memorial,
the victorious skeleton man statue from Mort Homme (Dead Man Hill)
in a very dark and stunning way, like an apparition...
on the ground one can see a forsaken battlefield covered by mist/fog
(and a trench filled with fog)… no big details on the ground itself,
but everybody can imagine what had happened here…
