The Austin, Texas band Rainravens has recorded and released five CDs of original music. First signed by DejaDisc, a Texas label that was home to a variety of popular artists including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Richard Buckner, Wayne Hancock, Sarah Elizabeth Campbell and Elliot Murphy, Rainravens soon went on to sign a deal with German label Bluerose Records. To date, the band's ongoing relationship with Bluerose has resulted in the release of all five Rainravens albums throughout Europe and four international tours. In 2004 Japans Dove Records released a compilation CD of their favorite Rainravens songs and brought Andy to Asia for a solo tour of Japan. In January of 2006 Blue Rose Records released The Best of Rainravens, a comprehensive collection containing 18 songs from the first four albums, 2 brand new songs, and a bonus CD Live in Europe. In the recording studio the band has worked with many of Texas finest musicians including Lloyd Maines, Gurf Morlix, Ian McLagan, Ron Knuth, Michael Ramos and Ian Matthews.
Rainravens touring schedule has taken them across the US as well as to Germany, France, Holland, Switzerland, Austria and Japan. They have shared the stage with artists as diverse as Paul Kelly, Steve Forbert, Jason & the Scorchers, Concrete Blonde, Suzanne Vega, The Bo Deans, Roomful of Blues and Riders in the Sky. In addition, the band played shows with many Austin favorites including Stephen Bruton, Joe Ely, Eliza Gilkyson, Butch Hancock, Jon Dee Graham, Bob Schneider and Darden Smith.

The all new, all original CRUELTY arrives Tuesday, July 29, and I'll celebrate with a show at Austin's legendary Cactus Cafe. It's free, aside from the $15 you'll certainly want to spend on the CD. Raina Rose opens at 8:30 pm, then Southpaw Jones performs in his finest suit, and nothing will ever be the same.
I was in Jubez in Karlsruhe again last night to see a Joseph Parsons/Todd Thibaud show ... and Garden Rocket was played two times before the show. Boys, I was thinking of you !! :)
Hi guys, I really enjoyed your gig in Wetzlar last night. I love the slow songs best - "Earth Rolls Over", "Taking You With Me", great songs ! It was a pleasure to open the show for you, thanks. Hope to see you somewhere somehow, maybe in Austin... Take care, Robert
