Rain San Martin: Compositions, Keyboards, acoustic guitar, percussion, and voice. Rain uses a PC based system running Cubase and utilizes the UAD-1 PC card pluggins. The majority her sounds are from Orchestral libraries and synth sound modules triggered via a Midi keyboard controller, these sounds are often accompanied by Rains original samples. Vocals, acoustic guitar and some percussion are performed from scratch. Special note: For those who are seeking to reconnect, Rain's maiden name is: Kristy Rain Hotz

Some of Rains influences for her Symphonic Fantasy Music include: fantasy film scorers Jerry Goldsmith and Basil Polidouris, new age artists Michael Stearns and Enya, the romantic composers Holst and Tchaikovsky, game composers George Sanger “The Fat Man” and Jeremy Soule.
Sonic influences for Rains upcoming progressive space-pop rock project include: Modern era symphonic fantasy metal and progressive hard rock bands such as Fairyland and Ayreon; Modern Era electronic pop artists Astromill and Freeze-Pop; Mid 1980’s synth rock and synth pop era groups Mike and the Mechanics, Genesis, Scritti Politti, Jan Hammer. Late 1980‘s to early 1990‘s hair bands and hard rock groups such as Van Halen, Winger, Jimmy Hotz; 1970’s classic rock bands Yes, Kansas, & Styx.

Hi Rain- I enjoyed listening to your music. It is really excellent on so many levels - there's so much to like about your music. I like the compositions, the orchestrations, the performance, your vocals. I think you are very talented, a lot of it reminded me of Rick Wakeman - very lush, big, and symphonic but also very gothic, very dramatic. Keep up the great work!!!
