I love local and regional rock music. I adore minor and junior league hockey but follow the NHL as well. I have a degree in Religion, concentrating in alternative, primal, and pagan faiths. Life took a bit of a drastic detour so the Masters in Theology is on hold indefinitely. I write when I can get my head screwed on straight, and when I can't I read and critique other people's writing. I've done a little bit of everything, so this little box could get pretty unruly. I've taken Neo-Tribal belly dancing lessons and have had voice training. I was in the SCA for nearly 14 years and was a medic. I've studied natural horsemanship and owned as well as broke several horses. I've volunteered a few hundred hours as a courthouse volunteer with a county DV/SV program and have over 120 hours of training, not counting my FA/CPR certs. I sew, bead, paint, and like to build things in general. It's probably easiest said that I like to create things. I've done a little modeling as well. I'm not a tiny woman however, hehe. I'll be in Ricardo Scipio's upcoming "The Goddess Project", a collection of fine art nudes, and also an extra in the soon to be released (hurry up and edit dammit!) "Flesh of my Flesh" by Guerrilla Productions. For those of you who don't separate music from religion, look me up ;)
  • Music

Anything and everything all the time. I don't, however, care for thrash metal, gangsta rap, or really twangy country. Something about not making my ears bleed. I like the Classics best. Clapton, Aerosmith, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin. A lot of the current adult alternative rock such as Nickleback, Foo Fighters, Sublime... list goes on and on. I'm a huge fan of small indie regional bands like Storm Large and the Balls from back in Portland, and Odd Thomas, Sugarcoat, and Negative Space here in Central PA. Really anything you'd find on a classic rock or adult alternative channel.
  • Movies

A movie has to either scare the hell outta me or make me think. Both if possible. If my brain isn't engaged, you've lost me. Really good psychological thrillers like the old "Hannibal" series or dramatic social issue thrillers like "Children of Men". Of course my hockey fetish demands that I adore "Miracle". My rather peculiar non-conformist childhood also fondly remembers and still holds dear such things as the original "The Secret of NIMH" and "The Last Unicorn". Oh, and anything with Ewan McGregor or Johnny Depp in it. Or hell, just someone put those two in a room and roll film, I'd watch that. What? Oh COME on, I'm a WOMAN. Give me a break.
  • Television

Eh, TV's for watching hockey. When there's no hockey, I watch A&E, SciFi, truTV, historical and true crime stuff. I'm usually listening instead of watching anyway.
  • Books

Most of my book consumption was focused on stuff for my degree over the last few years. Usually primal spirituality stuff. If I'm reading for fun, I like True Crime or Horror stuff.
  • Heroes

The men and women of the US Armed Forces, our law enforcement, and our EMS (we miss you Steph). Anyone who puts their ass on the line for my safety and freedom gets my "hero" tag.

Who I'd like to meet:

Anyone willing to think outside of the confines impressed upon us by the rule makers. Anyone willing to break the paradigm. Anyone who hears the music.

Quotes:
The lamps are different but the light is the same.

~
Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

Those who dance are considered insane by those who can't hear the music.

~
I'd rather hate you
For everything you are
Than ever love you
For something you are not

I'd rather you hate me
For everything I am
Than have you love me
For something that I can't

The Church says that the Earth is flat. But I know that it is round for I have seen the shadow on the moon, and I have more faith in a shadow than in the Church.
- Magellan

I learned a long time ago that one note can go a long way if it's the right one, and it will probably whip the guy with 20 notes.
- Lester William Polfuss

Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised. If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it.
