We met up on gumtree, both looking for something a little different. Jason posted an add for starting an impov orchestra, Rima needed a drummer for a duet. She decided to steal him away from the orchestra before it began.
They have been playing together since June 2007, having weekly gigs at an open mic on Brick Lane that Rima was hosting.
A year later, here they are, gigging weekly and building up a mass of songs and audience members. Happy anniversary Raising Objections, when is the European tour?

Thanks for adding me. ¶ People hear only what they want, so facts alone won't wake them; they need inspiration too. ¶ This world's evils have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, murderers — in market, government, & elsewhere — believe we're all separate, motivated only by self-interest, greed, fear. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them; we're all one flesh & blood. Let's spread that vision, for until we do our other advances will be minor & temporary. Theists & atheists alike, let us sing of our brotherhood. ¶ Peace & communication are one subject, not two, & no one can know that subject perfectly until we all do. To teach anyone anything, you must lead them out of the maze of their preconceptions; but that means they must teach you their maze, which requires leading you out of yours! ¶ The outcome of the ideological struggle is not yet determined, so no one can afford to be just a spectator. Join the movement, if you haven't already: get involved in whatever way feels right for you. We must all learn from one another; each of us knows only part of the song. Question authority. Keep fighting, loving, hoping, singing.
