Rajna, the French duo of Jeanne and Fabrice LEFEBVRE, was born in 1997 after a passion and a collection of musical instruments from all over the world. They have been influenced by world music and also by bands of the eighties ( especially Dead Can Dance ).They have realised 8 albums : Ishati (1999), Yahili (1999), The Heady Wine of Praise (2001), The Door of Serenity (2002), Hidden Temple (2004) , Black Tears (2004), Otherwise ( 2005) and Duality (2008).
They have collaborated with many musicians such as Francesco BANCHINI (KHVARENA - "The Spirit Rises" 2007).They have also collaborated with the French singer Brice AMO (OMASPHERE), with Stefano PANUNZI, with Olaf PARUSEL from STOA for the soundtrack "Barbarossa", and with Tim BOWNESS, the British singer from NO-MAN.
Fabrice has also played the santoor in NO-MAN's latest release "Schollyard Ghosts" on the track "True North".
Rajna also appeared on the French Television on France 2 in the documentary : Babylon "A la recherche du tombeau de Jésus".
In his compositions, Rajna uses a myriad of ethnic acoustic music instrumentation coming from India, Nepal, Tibet, North Africa, Turkey ... Their working process for every album they made is more akin to that of an artisan who oversees the entire creative process. Jeanne and Fabrice are totally self-taught : they have learned music from their travels by playing music with other musicians, by talking and exchanging with them like a universal language. Over the years, Jeanne has created her own laguage, her own writing and singing which gives Rajna's music his particularity.
Over the last 12 years, the name Rajna has become synonimous with Ethnic-influenced Ethereal music, an emotional vibe, a travel through space and time, a spiritual journey
