Renaldo Johnson was born and raised in King George, Virginia, where his mother was a well-known minister and music teacher. Renaldo started playing the piano at the age of 5, and at the age of 12, he began playing regularly for the youth choir at his church. In his teens, he began listening to other styles of music such as R&B, Soul, and Funk. He became fascinated with analog synthesizers, especially bass synthesizers, as he would learn famous bass lines from songs by Parliament, The Gap Band, Stevie Wonder, and Prince, just to name a few.
Renaldo performed live with gospel groups, and R&B and Pop/Jazz bands throughout the Washington, DC area in various public and private venues during the late 1980's and early 1990's. While working with a number of groups and artists, he became interested in not only the music, but also the aspect of recording original songs for the groups he performed with. He has recorded and released his own singles, and has a library of unreleased tracks and songs. He composes, arranges, produces, mixes, and is proficient with Logic Audio and analog/digital equipment for recording tracks/songs, as well as, recording vocalists and instrumental artists. He performs all of his music himself, playing all keyboards, synthesizers, lead and bass guitar, voice-box, programming drum tracks, and any other musical parts to create full musical compositions in a wide variety of genres.
His music has been placed in the Pump Audio, Inc. catalog, who licenses music to creative professionals in TV, film, and music industries worldwide. His music was recently accepted to be licensed on a major cable network.
