I'm Tiina-Rakel Liekki. The public part of me is a visual artist, freelance journalist and retired porn star. And you don't really need to know the rest. This here's my partial work history, not to be taken as an ego trip.

I graduated in 2001 with painting as my major, though I have focused on conceptual and performance art. You might have seen me perform for example in Finnish Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma but most likely you know me from porn.

Porn is an essential theme in my work. I have studied it thoroughly, for example by working in the industry as an actress, model, director and producer. I play with the boundaries of art and popular culture as well as the boundaries between a work of art and artist trying to objectify the artist in a piece of art. Therefore Rakel Liekki is also a household name and easily the most well known porn star in Finland. I’ve had my face plastered to pretty much every magazine there is in Finland and appeared in more tv shows than I can remember.

I retired from porn in 2005 at the age of 25. After that I had my own mainstream TV show with guest such as Jussi69 from The 69Eyes and Jonne Aaron from Negative. In 2007 after working hard for years and years I decided to take it easy. I now live a bohemian life in Helsinki and work only when I feel like it.

Currently I’m concentrating on my work as an visual artist, but I also work as a journalist. I write short columns to several leading newspapers and debate about current issues and politics in a radio show that is aired by Radio Suomi, the most listened to radio station in Finland. I also handle P.R. for Finland biggest erotic exhibition Turkkusex. In my free time I actively campaign for animal rights.
