Thanks for the request and for supporting Ms. Roy!
"The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy (weroy.org)
Anita! Thank you sooo much for reaching out! I love the work you have here and ofcourse your playing sounds really wonderful! I see Ritesh is on here!!! I must write to him as he has come to mind often recently because I am wanting to dedicate to lessons again - I might have to take a primer course from one of you first before he lets me in on any advanced level work since I have let my playing go so long! :(
But, I am settled now and dedicating to music again so I know I need a good Guru Ji to help me along my new path of riyaz!
I am also playing sitar now which is really exciting too! Again, I need a good teacher there as well.
Hi Anita, I like your tabla fusions.
They have a time lapse feeling to them. ... like the sound of a flower unfolding or sun setting or clouds rolling or people moving by in seconds. (Especially Darimba and Heart Murmur). At the same time they can also be the exact opposite ... with all that motion and complexity in the sound, there's also a sense of visual stillness and simplicity.
